Will He Stay or Will He Go Now?

The moment of truth has finally arrived as news broke that Manchester City have formally tabled a £100m opening bid for Super Jack Grealish. Villa’s response so far has purportedly been to offer Jack £200,000 a week to stay. Reports say City will up that. Villa Twitter is melting down. What to make of it?

Jack and The Dominoes

With the Euros well and truly picked over, and a bit of uncertainty mounting about Villa’s next moves, it seems about right to finally get into the usual and incessant transfer speculations doing the rounds. We’re seeing all sorts of things: Alvarez still bubbling around, Sarr being very expensive, and Bournemouth’s left-sided Dutchman, Arnaut Danjuma. Dwight McNeil has resurfaced, as has Will Hughes. Now it’s Leon Bailey and Todd Cantwell.

So Near and Yet So Far

Yeah, I’m Villa and a big Grealish fan. And yeah, everyone’s sick of the narrative. But I do believe one of the big takeaways for Southgate and England is that you don’t select your #10 because you’re more worried about defending than attacking when you’ve already got seven defenders on the pitch. And if you are going to look to Grealish for an impact, you have to get him the ball.
