As some of you will be aware our chief executive, Paul Faulkner, is raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust after his son, William, was diagnosed with the lung disease.

Having had personal experiences of a relative with CF – and having sadly lost him at the age of 24 twelve years ago – this is a cause that means a lot to both myself and my family, and therefore I wanted to do what I can to raise awareness of both the fund raising, but also the disease itself.

What is Cystic Fibrosis?

Cystic fibrosis is an inherited disease caused by a faulty gene. This gene controls the movement of salt and water in and out of your cells, so the lungs and digestive system become clogged with mucus, making it hard to breathe and digest food.

This post is dedicated both to the memory of Andrew Ellis, who we lost due to complications of CF 12 years ago, and to his sister Antonia who sadly died of cancer just a few years before we lost Andrew.

Many thanks for your support.
