Thought we might try and get that right since the crack Villa media team didn’t. Anyway, good to have you at the club. Your CV suggests you just might be the right man.

And if you are, one hopes we’ve given you enough time to perform your miracle. We’d like think we just might have enough talent for you to work with. We’re hoping you feel the same way, as you likely wouldn’t have taken the job if you didn’t.

So, here you are, jumping into the deep end with an illustrious club that’s been sailing round the Bermuda Triangle. In circles. Forever. A lot of people are going to question your sanity. I’m going to go with self-belief and a pair of brass ones.

It would be fantastic if your appointment provides a ray of hope and a bit of a spark at White Hart Lane. One hopes the players will be looking to impress. We understand you value commitment, tirelessness, and a refusal to concede.

These are things we’ll need in spades. Tonight wouldn’t be a bad time for the side to showing some of those qualities against Spurs.

We really do welcome you, Monsieur Garde. And we wish you every bit of luck on the journey to safety and beyond.

  1. evening JC and welcome Remi very welcome.
I think this man has the nuts to do this job and he sees the potential. He is taking as big a risk career wise taking this on as we are with our prem future, I have no doubt he would of been somewhere else very soon if we hadn’t got him. His opening speech if anything to go by reeks of class

    UTV

  2. listening to the sky sports pundits is hilarious, they are knocking remis record saying Lyon expect to be at the top whilst ignoring they sold all the best players and had 3 seasons of negative spends to avoid going down the pan from overspending, winkers

  3. I’d say tonight is the second worst Villa line up I’ve ever seen. Shocking by Kmac

Garde has made it. Wish he’d stayed home. Poor bloke has to witness Guzan, Hutton, Lescott, Richardson, Westwood, Bacuna, Sinclair and gabby play football

  4. We will be lucky to get 0 with that line up!! I bet Spurs are pissing themselves. Let’s hope it’s not the first of two humiliations live on TV in front of the nation.

  5. John,

Sorry, I’m not sure that it’s right to say the C.V. “suggests you just might be the right man”.

It might well be if no pressure and/or we were starting from the beginning of the season, but this is a situation that is *really* going to test his mettle. He’s hardly had much managerial experience from what I see and none in the Prem, so it’s a big hurdle he’g to face.

I think we should have got Morinho! He’s on his way out from Chelski I think!!!!! 😉

Seriously … I wish Remi all the very best … but he’s really got to beat Sam Allardyce at his own game to succeed – this season at least.

  6. Welcome Reme Garde and good luck , you’re going to need it . this could be the biggest gamble we have ever made or it could be the most brilliant appointment in our history . Fact is , no one can possibly predict how it will go.

Interesting none of the French players brought in start the game – is this as GNev suggests KMac making a point about our recruitment policy – has KMac as he said might do in interview taken advice from TS (extraordinary thing to do) and Tims making the point , or is he going with what he knows , Gabby and co.
Just seen them walk out – our lads look like they’re attending a funeral ! But good on the away fans – singing loud and clear !!

  7. Welcome Remi!

Haha let’s see if ur right Andrew about the pummelling!

Was that poor goalkeeping from guzan would have to see a replay!

Dembele is a big talent when motivated!

At least it was early and we have the whole match to get back in this!

  8. Just seen the team, i think Garde told Kmac he was booted before the game. Pathetic team of losers and although i’ve always stood up for Kmac he deserves the boot for inflicting this crepe on our fans, utterley shocking.

  9. some wag has just said the FA cup final was closer to our last win than this game!!!!
It’s men against boys, we look what we are a poor poor side devoid of any ideas or quality. We look panicked every time we get the ball.

  10. JC,
You may have something there, he’ll see what we’ve had to put up with.
Sounds as if Fox didn’t have much faith in TS judging by his comments on Garde, remind me who appointed TS again.

  11. Yes Steamer – either he got the sack or he wants it .
My sixteen year old daughter shouts “go” from the settee , when Hutton swings a ball in to the box “what’s wrong with them , just chasing the ball
    around , they’re just not organised ”

Reme if you want an assistant – here she is !

  12. B62 – they looked like they’d just lost the game when they came out the tunnel . Terrible body language . Reme got a job on his hands uplifting this lot. Has there been a mutiny in the dressing room ?!

  13. Jenny
If there has been a split or munity, anyone not pulling in the right direction for the good of the club should be **dropped/sold/shot as spy’s ** delete as appropriate

  14. Shocking side and Kmac deserves the boot just for picking that useless tosser up front supposed to be our leader he’s the only one wearing gloves bar the keepers crap doesn’t cover him , he just played on with one of ours lying down injured GA fuck off to blues.

  15. If we’re playing to up top and putting 1 mid as a holder and 1 up top then the two centre miss had better be bloody good players and they’re not! Where’s Gana and veretout???

    Kmac on ur bike!!!
    UTV

  16. We are going down before the German market closes , premier league your having a laugh I actually feel the championship maybe a level to far for most of these useless bell ends

  17. The pundits are actually openly laughing at us on Sky!!! GA has 8 touches in the first half lowest in the league this season, 2 were kick offs when Gary Neville showed that they all burst out laughing. The most painful thing is they are right!!!!

  18. Clarke caught out as left footed got wrong side but where was Hutton, jogging back!! if he sprinted its 2 v 1 he watches it happen says it all. Second goal another usless cock up of a clearance.

Garde will make a mockery of this shower of shit and if anybody thinks Sam would get this lot playing well god help us, Thats why Remi had to come in for me, our prem experienced players are very ordinary and feeling sorry for themselves, tarts the lot of them!!!

  19. Let’s hope you are right and that Reme can make a team out of them Mark cos it’s clear they’ve got no belief left . It’s almost a “let’s not lie by too many ” goal . Hope we see big changes second half – surely he has to try the new players .

  20. Seems odd to take him off after a minute of the 2nd half, wonder if he said something ? surely he’s finished at VP now, no-one could make a footballer out of that fat, lazy, useless knob.

  21. I can’t see this Villa squad winning another game, Garde must be thinking WTF have I done. I bet he has got a relegation clause ie he can go with a bit of compo as its an almost impossible job to keep us up, no wonder his mates didn’t want to come with him, AVFC = managerial suicide

  22. This is a shambles…the funny thing is, it always has been. None of this team is good enough to play in the next division down…it’s really only being in 20th rather than 17th that seems to be making everyone wake up.

  23. garde first job sack mac donald plus all rest coaches and send guzan can t save anything hutton richardson stupid ponytail, lescott, westwood and road runner gabby all 8 touches in first half fraud joke what ever
its a mess wesigned 13 players only sinclair lescott start where are ilor crespo gana kozak troare

  24. Sanchez, Westwood, Bacuna, Sinclair, Richardson, Okore, Ayew, Veretout, Lescott, Hutton, Gestede…all shit from the day they arrived and will always be shit as long as they have a hole in their arse. So, you see, it really doesn’t matter who the manager is because there is no quality in the playing staff, despite the vermin Lerner’s outrageous comment today.

  25. What a load of panickers!
Let the new man pick his team and train with them before judging!

    Spuds only have 2 gears.
We have 6 plus a turbo but we’re in reverse at the moment.

Couple of soft goals but there are only 2 good teams in the division and that’s only when silva and aguero r healthy!

Like ayew more every time I see him. Good player!
    UTV

  26. paul
agree about lerners comment out lay of between 5/10 m on team fighting relegation for 5 straight years but 11 new signings not playing what is going on thought last weeks team by mcdonald was bad but tonight turned me completely to have to watch hutton richardson westwood gabby wearing my shirt with so little pride and effort

  27. Yet another game in which we deserve nothing.

Yet another game where we’re second in every part of the pitch.

Their defenders could play us all night and not concede. They’re blocking tackles and winning the ball as a senior team might against under 18s.

I have zero expectation this can be turned around – Remi will have to be magic.

  28. 5 points from 16th with lots of football to play!

    Gil shown his class already!
Ayew has a lot to offer.

The new man will figure out who the best players are and when if to use Rudy as the loner striker!
    UTV

  29. Do the math, it’s not that difficult!

Ayew, Gil, Amavi, Richards, okore. Grealish, Gana. Veretout have ability!
Sanchez, gestede have roles to play!

    Lots of football to play,

    Leaders lead and panickers panic!

Confidence, a set team formation or two and our best players in their best positions and we can turn this around!

Plenty of time to turn this around.
Give the new man a chance Beeker!

  30. please remi a team like this on sunday
bunn sorry guzan keepers taught to keep legs closed watched mod showed freekicks you are only one stays to your post time up
    richards
    clark
    crespo
    amavi
    sanchez
    gana
    vertout
    sinclair
    gil
    ayew
    subs
    from
    gestede grealish bacuna traore kozak

  31. Well Reme is on a win win isn’t he – it couldn’t be worse . Even if he can’t avoid relegation , we were 20th when he came , worst start in 127 years . In that sense he has less pressure and can point to the players he inherited . On the bright side , Anew looking a player and , like for Swansea , he looks like he cares .

  32. He’ll be asking Kmac why the fook isn’t gil and ayew playing? 2 players turned the game and nearly got us a point. At the very least those 2 should of played from the start instead of grealish and gabby, the difference is there to see. Garde is about to make Tim look a fool imo

  33. Well, after all the emotion about the team selected…!

I think Mac was just showing Garde what last season’s side was (of those still here) and then gradually brought on a couple of real players to show what can be done.

Biggest lesson? Replacing Grealish with Gil. What a difference Gil made. He looked as tho0ugh he wanted to play. Grealish, sadly, just wants to show pretty skills – which don’t achieve much except in a championship-winning side.

    Anyway, night nght! 🙂

  34. We lack everything as a side. Basics. It’s so bad

We had a chance to take advantage of good results and blew it, we will be 7 points adrift after City come to town. That could end us already

Anyway, Garde needs to play our best players. Amavi, Gana, Veretout, Adama, Gil, Jack, Ayew

Gabby should never play again. Nor Richardson

  35. Jen- one thing that will not happen is Garde offering up excuses, he’s made of sterner stuff to Tim and definitely to Kevin crap my pants mcdonald.

He’ll probably be asking why we insist on beating ourselves before we start?

  36. when will penny drop for lerner is it next august we play mkdons first match of season with not a player to sell gabby hutton westwood bacuna on 5 year contracts

  37. when Garde’s had a look he will find a way to get the best from Jack, playing in a side for 60 mins that don’t pass to each other and getting the ball with two DM on his case is not the way. But he needs a rocket up his jacksie.

Sanchez ran his nuts off but can’t do it all, sloppy at times again. Richardson didn’t play that bad but should not be in the side over Amavi . Clark cannot play on the right where was Okore? hutton should be banned from crossing ever.

  38. I welcome the champ, roll on relegatiOn. Better than watching my team outclassed and loose every week.

Theres no fun in this, i sit watching us feeling no emotion, not when we score or concede! Thats not right. I just want to feel the love again, if thats in the championship then so be it.

  39. Realistically we need to get another 34/5 points minimum, is that possible having played 11 games and only won one and a draw against a very poor Sunderland side. This with Garde inheriting a side devoid of confidence, quality and know how. He has a really tough task trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ear

  40. I was at the game this evening.

I knew Kmac would bottle it with his team selection – of the 12 players signed in the summer only Lescott started and that was because Richards was banned an hour before kick off. The situation at Villa is unbelievable.

How can Carlos Gil not start every game. WTF do the likes of Kmac, Tony Parks and Sherwood know about football if they leave Gil on the bench and start with players like Gabby. It is incredible. When Gil came on we looked decent for 15 minutes.

I am going to look at the positives – if Garde is a footballing purist and starts with Gil – Gana – Sanchez – Grealish – Traore – Amavi – then we might start winning games

  41. Yes lads and Jenny,
I’ve said all along that we have the talent at our disposal it’s just a matter of using it properly.
Ayew looked bloody good if u ask me, he’s a got a taste for it now and wants more!
There’s a role for Gestede there as well even if he is a one trick pony but he does that one trick very well!
I don’t expect us to get anything from City but when we’re back from intl break then I expect things will start to look better and we’ll start picking up points playing the better players and some nice football.
I almost forgot why I came on tonight.
What the Fuck was Lescott doing on the 1st goal? Ok so Clarke could have played it better and that twat Guzan let it go through his legs near post but what I can’t for the life of me figure out after seeing the replay is how on earth did Lescott not cover for Clarke, he just sat idly by and watched it all take place like a bleedin statue, hopeless and sums up the state we’re in at the moment. Richards will help and Amavi must start.

    UTV

  42. Andrew- you can scrape the runny bits off the side and make it more solid and spray it with Fabreeze 😉

Ronnie- Hutton also jogged back watching it happen, I hope garde sits them in a dark room with a huge screen and a pointer today. They are man marking generally and fuck anyone else! is what I saw, this lot are frozen by fear thanks Tim.

Talking of people frozen by fear Kmac was actually surprised by how good Gil was!!!! the players said they only found out it was garde when we did??!! So it wouldn’t surprise me if Kmac hasn’t been near the first team squad since last season so went with what he recognised. what a travesty, Gil and Ayew instead of Westwood and gabby in the first game and we could of got something from it same goes for the second. Gil can run the show like no other player we have, give him runners off him like sinclair, gueye, vertout and yes grealish we will see a team emerge IMO.

Times past for messing about in defence, richards right-back, okore, clark/ lescott, Amavi could try crespo at right back and why did he not play on the right side last night instead of clark??

By the look on Garde’s face its not going to be a comfortable week for the team

  43. Mark,

How did he get injured taking the kick off, the bloke is useless and should never play for the Villa again, mind you he wasn”t the only useless player out there last night.

Garde has got a massive job on his hands, while Reilly and his crew play moneyball AVFC are going down the pan quicker than the scum down the road.

Can Garde keep us in touch with teams above us until January when he can bring in some quality with guts to do the job, but why would players like Lacazette leave France for a hopeless cause.

    GSAVFC

  44. Lerner – “Nobody at Villa can deny that we are way behind.
How astute, we’ve been telling you for years.

Fox added: “For the past year we have been working purposefully to transform the club in order to build a successful organisation that can compete and succeed in the Premier League.
You don’t know what yer doing so where’s the evidence ?

“Finding a manager who shares and believes in our vision and has the ability to bring it to life through performances on the pitch is essential. We are confident that Remi is the manager who can deliver the best from the current squad and help set the club up for future success.”
    Lerner x4.

What was obvious last night was that contrary to Kmacs comments, the players don’t actually give a monkeys, they’re completely gutless and hold the fans in contempt.
Kmacs team selection should prevent him finding another job in football when he picks up his P45 today. I thought nothing about AVFC could shock me anymore, that team did.
Boot all the British dummies except Grealish, Richards and Gardner and build the team around Gil.

  45. SWV- Hopefully garde will of started the cull from the stands last night, don’t think he spoke a word to fox just concentrated on the erm? game. Its so jefing obvious what needs changing how could an experienced coach like Kmac not see?? beginning to think the only difference between professional and layman is they applied for the job

  46. Fox should find a pair and report Mike Dean to the FA for ignoring Westwoods head injury and in general cheating his way through 90 minutes like EVERY ref we have, oops sorry, is that the same FA who told the club that Richards was suspended TWO hours before kick off ? won’t mention the Blackpool fine. Can you imagine these corrupt toerags making the same decisions with one of Ferguscons clubs ?

  47. Yes Mark,
Jenny mentioned that Kmac asked TS about Spuds team, mind boggling.
Afraid we need a complete clear out of coaches at VP.
There’s a bloke on TBAR from Nantes who supports Villa who reckons Houllier was a crepe coach and everyone in France knew it, he doesn’t rate Gaultier either but Garde comes highly recommended. His posts are very funny too, has Clouseau as his avatar.

  48. Good morning AVLifers.

My thoughts on the season so far :

We have lost our 3 best players in the summer, (arguably 4 if you include Cleverley). The recruitment staff have bought really, really well in attempting to come back from that. Some excellent young talent whom inexplicably have not been selected by the manager and the caretaker manager.

The tactics and selections have been, quite frankly, appalling. By far the worst I have ever seen in my lifetime. Worse than McNeil, Venglos and McLeish.

Fox was right to appoint Sherwood. He did so at the right time. We avoided relegation and got to a cup final. Last season was great for Sherwood. His success, however has proved to be ephemeral. He isn’t good enough to manage at this level for any longer than the short term and Fox acted at the right time again. Being 2-0 up at Leicester with 20 minutes to go and bringing on a striker was the beginning of the end. Sherwood is tactically inept and couldn’t pick his nose.

What has shocked me, is KMac’s appalling team selections since. Our side is all wrong at the moment and it has NOTHING to do with the quality of our squad.

Garde knows these young French players and will select them. It’s obvious that we will go down if we continue to persist with Richardson, Clark, Westwood, Grealish and Agbonlahor.

Micah Richards should be asked by Garde to make himself available for selection at right back. If he says no then Garde should tell him bollocks. Okore, Amavi, Gill, Veretout and Gana should come straight in with Ayew playing centre forward.

Hopefully we shall see something like this on Sunday:

    Guzan

    Richards
    Okore
    Lescott
    Amavi

    Sanchez

    Veretout
    Gana

    Gill
    Sinclair

    Ayew

Gill on the right, Sinclair on the left. Gestede is a good option to have on the bench, as is Traore.

Whilst Grealish has some talent, he is an out an out luxury player that we can’t afford. Best off on the bench.

Agbonlahor is probably finished and unless he is 100% fit and loses some weight, then he should not be considered for selection.

Richardson is just garbage and Clark is making too many errors. Hutton had a good game last night but I’d prefer Richards there any day of the week. Bacuna is OK but no more than that. I wouldn’t pick him in our best starting XI.

If we get Amavi and Okore back in the side then Lescott’s experience will be useful in-between them. He has made a poor start and has lost some pace and mobility. However I have seen some signs in recent games that he is improving.

  49. Steamer- on ref’s, why us? what did we do other than be crepe? surely they should be taking pity.

just read an article about Garde and his experience, how he didn’t do well in the champs etc. they all conveniently ignore the team were all youngsters . when they have it in for you they have it in for you.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3301509/Remi-Garde-huge-gamble-Aston-Villa-owner-Randy-Lerner-CV-shows-no-signs-need-right-now.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490

  50. Must say that i found the piss taking from those mediocrities, Neville and Carragher slightly offensive, AVFC was once a highly respected club with some of the most loyal fans anywhere and, although we’re having a hard time, neither Neville or Carragher were exactly World beaters.

  51. Blimey, not only agreeing with Droyd but agreeing 100% (well nearly ).

I think Lerner will free up a decent chunk in January, the problem may be persuading players to come to VP.

Interesting about the Swiss group, we’ve got to get European investors in, at least they have some knowledge of the sport.

  52. Steamer – KMac said after the game Gabby had a calf injury – so why he played is strange to say the least .’

No one seems to be asking the question why aren’t the new recruits playing ? Why aren’t they being selected . It doesn’t make sense . First Sherwood – then KMac. Sherwood played them to begin with then dud a turnaround and left them out . If they are better than what we have (and they need to be ) why are they excluded .
At least Garde will try them out and we will then see whether they were left out because they aren’t up to speed or for politically other reasons .

  53. if you look at the dealings from 11/12 to 13/14 you will see what he had to put up with

sold Hugo Lloris, Aly Cissokho, Dejan Lovren the season before we bought Makoun from them.

if you look at there previous spending it paints a picture although they have always sold plenty

    http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/olympique-lyon/transfers/verein/1041/plus/0?saison_id=2011&pos=&detailpos=

  54. Droyd- I agree except on Grealish, played in a no hope side next to useless, played with Gil as in the Leicester game can be fantastic. last night he was played up top with gabby?? 2 DM’s and a CH up his chuff, not at his best with his back to goal. I think Garde will see how to use him, would rather he start and come off than other way around.

  55. How they laughed on sky sports last night – sadly everything that amused them about villa is Randy’s making

Warm welcome to Remi Garde – thank gord we didn’t hire a big Sam type , stone age hoof it football manager for a change , this gives me a slight glimmer of hope as we don’t have the players to scrap there way out of this but a few that if guided could play there way out of it .

i know you can’t polish a turd but hey you can roll it in glitter

as said in many posts and on sky the team selection was a dig at the transfer policy but k mac you played players that are much worse than these wet behind the ear kids – at least they have some kind of ability — and i wouldn’t now trust k mac with our academy kids – he needs to be shown the door asap

look forward to the coming week – not so much the citeh game but you never know in football — but i hope i may finally enjoy watching my team win . lose or draw as Remi gets his message across

    VTID

  56. Jen,
Mystery, how did he do his calf just by kicking off ? my thoughts are either that he said something to the bench or he couldn’t take any more humiliation. Still, only four more years of ‘the legend.’

as said in many posts and on sky the team selection was a dig at the transfer policy but k mac you played players that are much worse than these wet behind the ear kids – at least they have some kind of ability — and i wouldn’t now trust k mac with our academy kids – he needs to be shown the door asap
    Thats great Runtingz, totally agree.

  57. Mark – Grealish is a luxury player. He doesn’t help out defensively, which is a cardinal sin in the modern game. We can’t carry that. Especially as he doesn’t score or create goals. He lacks pace.

The Liverpool semi-final last season showed what talent he has but in our position, we can’t have him and Gill in the team and Gill is head and shoulders above him.

I was discussing Grealish in the pub yesterday lunchtime with Gary Shaw. He said Ron Saunders would never pick a player like Grealish. Every player had to work their tits off and give “110%”.

  58. Droyd,
Ron Saunders was a twat who had a couple of good seasons at VP when he got lucky and inherited the best crop of kids in England. Lamberts teams were boring but Saunders, in general, were as bad. Also we were relegated until Barton took over and then Mr 10% went to the tip and Olbyon and relegated them. A mate of mine was at Damson Lane when he called Howard Gayle a coward and was beaten to a pulp for it, phony manager, phony hard man, another chancer who just went for the money.

  59. im afraid that talented as JG undoubtedly is , he needs managing properly and I fear Sherwood used him to gain popularity with the fans , Jack being one of “ours”. Maybe he played him too much at the expense of Gil . He got too much publicity IMO which can piss more worthy players off and inflate his ego detrimentally . tgus was also used by the AV. PR machine – as if playing Grealish would hide the other conspicuous nonsense going on . It’s just too soon for this sort of hero worship and not in Jack’s best interest. Compare Deli Ali , a better all round player and only 19 but clearly in his place as the comical post match interview with him showed .

From what I’ve read about Remi, he is more measured and considered – a thinker rather than an emotional performer like Sherwood. He will be ideal for the likes of Grealish and our younger players as he had to bring in the academy players at Lyon when they adopted the ” produce your own policy” . I also liked the fact that he studied the game intensely – wasn’t interested in the lime light heroics and was not playing the big I am with Fox and Reily. Compare this to Sherwood’s display when he was at the Leicester game in the same situation . We have a manager that will put the team before himself by all accounts , at long last.

  60. Agree that grealish needs sitting down, you have to be scoring and assisiting every game and be bloody good if your not going to work back, we cant carry him at the mo. Like steamer said build it around Gill.

He was superb when he came on. Sinclair ran his socks off and Ayew looked good too. Just hoping we can make it fun supporting villa again.

Imagine the scenes if gardei playes the same sort of side sunday!

  61. Steamer,

Slightly offensive is an understatement I was head butting my TV, those no marks taking the piss hardly Baresi and Carlos were they, but must admit it hurt at the time to see the laughing stock Faulkner,Fox and Lerner have made us I hope Ellis was watching and realised that he dropped us in more crap than he ever created.

Will we ever see our club being taken seriously ever again probably not in our lifetime and I include Frem in there.

    GSAVFC

  62. The above article from the Guardian shows he is highly thought of by football people and the players he’s worked with . As it says “he could be the next Arsenne Wenger”.
In firmly in the Remi camp now .

If I wasn’t feeling so ill I would be there to cheer him on on Sunday 🙁

Andrew – my favourite players too last night . Also Sanchez was busy , great attitude . It’s a hell of a game for him to start off with though , but I hope they start based on their performances last night . Agew 2 goals in 2 games has to .

  63. I wouldn’t blame Grealish too much folks. I think he was a massive part of our survival and cup run. Lasr season he had people running off of him this season they stand and watch. Along with gil in the leicester game we played our best football until gil withdrew and grealish played in a defensive position thanks tim, dont judge him on this dross garde wont.

Sanchez always has or trys to do too much needs to calm down and think otherwise hes worth 60 mins before he’s tanked.
Sinclair wants to play at least, gave garde food for thought.

  64. Who isn’t at training ground Andrew ?

Not getting at JG Mark , I just think he’d be better out of the limelight for a while and will learn more from the type of manager that Reme appears to be .

  65. Is that a Sterling type “tired” or a manager’s don’t want to play them “tired”. I’d have thought they’d be dying fur the opportunity to impress the new manager and they will know more about him than us , maybe worked with him . Unless they’ve got the same as me and my doctor said it can take over three weeks to get over it – don’t I know it .

  66. I cannot believe that Gana and Traore were left out of the squad because of fatigue. We have played 10 games, Traore has not played 90 mins and Gana has not played every game. We are bottom of the league, fighting for our lives and we are leaving vital players out of the squad. WTF.

We leave out our best players Carlos Gil week after week WTF.

    We leave out Amavi WTF

    We start with Gabby WTF

We leave out Ayew who is scoring goals WTF

    We start with Lescott WTF

    WTF is happeninhg at Villa

Gid riddance Sherwoood – KMAC – Ray – Parks – Fxxk Oxx.

When Gil came on last night we looked like a football team. My only concern is that Garde had aleady left the stadium – he was sitting in front of me. I don’t think he pulled off the casual look. He needs to work on that

However he has my full support starting on Sunday.

    WTF.

  67. I guess he’s got loads to see and do first day Andrew unless last night has put him off !

Mark and Ronnie – he sounds like a decent, sincere and intelligent bloke . First impressions v good .

  68. I’m surprised he left early RichardS – they showed quite a few shots of him on sky and I thought they showed him at the end – obviously in mistaken – remember seeing Fox and Riley head in hands when Bacunas shot hit wood work and he was there then so maybe he did see a little of Ayew. But if you were there then you will have seen him leave so have more info

  69. He probably thought they look fatigued Jen 😉

could be their immune systems getting used to England I wouldn’t be surprised, 3 months of shitting through the eye of a needle in India taught me that 🙂

  70. If Remi Garde didn’t know the size of the task at hand, he does now and I bet he already regrets his decision. I honestly feel it is almost too late, especially with these players. This is a team that cannot defend or keep clean sheets, gets easily over run in the middle of the park, creates little and scores even less. The stark truth is we look like a team that deserves to get relegated, no matter what players are picked or systems chosen we have looked bereft of quality and far too easy to beat. Despite bringing in God knows how many players, we still need heavy investment in January to survive, we need goals, we are so easy to play and defend against last night was a training game for Spurs, it’s frightening just how crap this side is.

  71. Brilliant Mark . He will sort out the shirkers . Remember them complaining under GH yet by the end of the season they’d fitnes was massively improved. I remember Darren Bent saying he’d never been so fit and Dunne and Collins fur all they’re complaining put in some heroic performances at the end of the season .

Remi Remi – sorry I doubted you . But after that dreadful display from the so called “safe hands” that the average traditional manager will go for , it’s clear we need a revolution not a continuation . I have to reluctantly admit I may have been wrong and that Fox and co have made a great decision – fingers crossed !

New villa song anyone “Remi Remi ” to Blondies ” Denni Denni ? Cheese at its best 🙂

  72. That team selection didn’t do us justice though B62 . If our French players respond we could have at least as good if not better team than Bournmouth , Sunderland and Norwich/ Watford . Get a quality striker and keeper in Jan and things look so much brighter

It sounds like Remi does his homework , is organised and a good tactician . I bet he’s pouring over vids of man city as we speak – and watching them tonight . It’s s daunting task but with change brings hope .
