In 2006 – 10 years ago this year – a Knight-Errant seemed to have arrived on his white charger from across the seas. Who he was no-one questioned too much as the Villans inherently believed that he must be better than the previous encumbant.

But the former Maryland Bank North America owner merely wanted to play a game. His own game – of third-dimensional chess.

Amidst all the euphoria whilst he spent on infrastructure – and players, it has to be said – the new King appeared to convey trust in his two Bishops (Faulkner and O’Neill) and his Knights Templar strutted the upper echelons for awhile. But somewhere – was it just because of the loss of his Queen? – the King thought himself in danger of checkmate.

The King’s plans for the re-building of his Castle were folded up and put away, ignoring the possibility that the foundations of the fortifications might be in danger of crumbling. After all, if the Castle was to start collapsing the King could always retreat to the safety of his home country. And he did, to play out his third-dimensional game.

The situation today can be summed up in this one observation by Thierry Henry: “I’ve played at Villa Park obviously, and it was always a fight. They always had that fight in them, that’s the spirit of the club. Now, they just don’t have it.”

The games being played have (with rare exceptions) provided little entertainment faire and lack of character for so long that the fans have mainly forgotten what it was like in the days of O’Neill. But even in those days many of the fans were not completely happy (though less disgruntled than they were under Doug) but what has happened since has been a shock to the sensibilities of the loyal followers of this club, many of whom have inherited their loyalty from their grandfathers and great-grandfathers, and the glories of the 1976-82 years.

In the last season of serious consequences (1966-67) the Villa – despite labouring under the mismanagement of those times – played with pride right up until the last few games. I remember clearly a home game against Spurs, at the time when they had some wonderful players on view, when Villa were 3-0 up after 30 minutes (including a cracker from Chatterley that I still vividly remember), but had played their hearts out to such an extent that they wilted and eventually drew, 3-3.

And 2 or 3 years earlier, it is almost impossible to believe that a young Bobby Park (all eagerness but not too much skill) went off with a broken collar bone yet insisted on returning to the fray wrapped up in a sling in the days before substitutions.

Or the days of Bruce Rioch, a richly talented player who stayed with Villa through their third tier days and only left when Villa did not progress quickly enough. Once, when his absence through injury was acutely felt, you knew when he came onto the field as a substitute he would get Villa out of a hole. And he did.

These are memories about character. Where do you find such commitment and heroes today? It’s only the stuff of history books.

At the beginning of March, 2016, this once great club has conceded 11 goals in three successive matches with title-chasing Man City and Spurs as their next two games. Effectively, Villa’s season is already over and yet we have to endure the possibility of greater humiliations. Villa’s prospects look bleak and never before has a season finished in such disarray.

Despite heavy defeats, it was never as bad in 1936 (their first ever relegation), certainly not in 1959 nor even in 1967 or 1987. In the last two of those relegation years you felt some fear, but action was quickly taken to reverse the slide, even though full recovery took time.

What will happen after this season?

Cheers for writing a new leader and keeping the discussion alive, this for me is the worst relegation in our history, just because of the financial Armageddon that comes with it and the fact the football landscape will change forever with the massive cash injection to the premier league.
You couldn’t make it up, the one season you didn’t want to gamble and not invest properly , what did we do?? Exactly that and we have been a disaster from day 1. The summer transfer window was a washout, we had our best talent exiting stage right, only to have idiots overspending on French crap, and rewarding the shite on our books with extended contracts, without recruiting the right players or right positions .
Next season will see us struggle, we are way worse than the two teams that will join us in the drop, and I’d say there are at least 5 /6 teams that are way better than us, better organised with better team spirit and fight.
I fear we will struggle in the bottom half of the second tier and wouldn’t write off being dragged into the relegation battle.
This summer we need Lerner gone( easier said than done and very unlikely), we also need Fox, Reilly and Almstadt gone. I can’t see what Hollis is here to do other than asset strip, nor do I understand why King is here. We need Steve Stride back and some footballing or at least proven football businessmen on the board. Onto the squad, Garde has to go, he’s shown me nothing that shows he is up to the job and I mean absolutely nothing, the squad needs ripping up, we need to build a spine, GK, dominant CB, a RB, we need to sort the midfield out, I can’t believe how many ineffective useless midfielders we have, they offer nothing I’d sell the lot and start again, we also need some width and a proper goalscorer.
This is a minimum or we will be in a relegation battle.
If the rumours of administration are true nothing will happen only the downward spiral will continue and gather pace.
    RIP AVFC

  2. really excellent JL

One thing about Randy’s strategy since MON left was to play the fair play card and convincing even myself at first that major cutbacks were require
but what i have realised is that the fairplay rule isn’t worth the paper it is written on and no one gets punished for breaking the ruling
it would have trouble standing up in court for sure

Randy has pleaded poverty and hidden behind this ruling and used it as a smoke screen to take money out of the club and put nothing much in

We are tied up in so many loans with various companies that all have connections to Randy’s wallet so is he even losing money ? or just milking the club for all it is worth ?

  3. Oct 3rd 2014 – These quotes show just what a deluded, lying, clown Fox is –
Speaking publicly for the first time since moving to the West Midlands, Fox passionately outlined his visions and also revealed how an ‘enthused and energised’ Randy Lerner is hoping to make it happen.

“I think we’ve got a really good chance, not in one year, not tomorrow, but over time, to get the club back to where it deserves to be,” said Fox. “You certainly don’t want to limit your ambition, so I’m conscious of saying one thing and making people feel that I’m artificially limiting our ambition.

“I’ve spent enough time in the business of sport and the world of football to know that it is a game that is driven by the money spent on your squad.
“When I talk to him now, he sounds like someone who brought the club last week.

“I know he’s owned it for years, but he really is enthused and energised.

“He said something to me ‘I just want to start having fun with the club again’ and I don’t think that’s a lot for the owner to ask.

“He wants to come and enjoy the experience and know that the club is generating pride for the people that it matters.

“Randy is a fan, and he’s starting to feel that pride for the club.

“He sounds fully engaged to me, I have nothing to compare it to of course, but he’ll talk to me for hours when we get on the phone.”

  4. JL

Thank you once again for your excellent knowledge and leader.

Nice to be reminded of players like Lew Chatterley and the great Bruce Rioch, who moved on then to save Coventry.

I fear that all that is in view, is administration, as I cannot see how the numbers stack up, when the kit in the shops is being sold off at half price or less at this stage of the season, and tickets for last night’s game could be bought on Seatwave for £6.50.

I cannot see ST’s holders renewing this time, when it will probably be cheaper to buy tickets elsewhere…

I also wonder how many complementary seats are given away every game, as I am often hearing that someone knows someone and gets one.

The income the club generates must have fallen massively this season, and the decline is accelerating rapidly….much like the displays on the pitch.

Between the board, Remi, the team, and recently Ayew’s crazy moment, all has been lost. Until the Ayew moment Villa were top of the mini league of relegation candidates, with two wins and two draws, but that moment has cost us four losses on the trot, and brought us down but we are still mid-way on the mini league at the end of last night. This will now change, as we shall lose the next two games even more heavily, and Remi has no answers.

I(t looks like it has taken the French, to kill us off in the end….

If only we could bring back some of our own and show some real fight from our English players…Gardner, Baker, Robinson, Donacien, and give some of our youth a go….could not be any worse..

  5. Strange that he contradicts Hollis on how money influences the results.
Can anyone locate the picture of him squirming, i want to see him suffering, you know how they need to be popular.

  6. Steamer

Actions speak louder than words eh!

I have know in my heart since the foxes away game we are down. I remember it now…i went for a run after the game and had a few tears along the way. The penny dropped we dont score enough goals and we cant keep clean sheets. But what kept me going was i thought we might do well in the championship. But now i am thinking we are stuffed unless we have a clean sweep. Obv need learner out but if not i will also take fox, reilly, almstadt out and see if king and and the other new chap can change things. with a new manager and new squad. Garde is a nice guy but i just dont see him as the man to rebuild us. I dont but into the championship being all rough and tumble and long ball..it aint as watford, bournemouth, boro etc are proving. What you need in that league is a squad of serious hard pros. What the championship is is a relentless battle 2 games a week. The french lot wont know whats hit them. Reading the secret footballer and all the clubs he has been at he has not got a good word to say about the french. He says they are very cliquey and will follow each others mood. Only takes 1 to down tools and the others follow!

  7. Andrew,
Peeps just don’t realise the connection between a fan and his club, the current situation is very sad.
I think Garde now realises that he’s in an impossible situation and is either going through the motions or trying desperate selections and tactics in the vain hope that something clicks, it won’t.
I’d love him to succeed at VP but under these circumstances its impossible.

Lescott has cost us four goals in the last two games, that doesn’t help matters.
I don’t know for certain if Villa will be in existence next season but the influence of Fox will hinder any progress, the ridiculously long contracts handed out to the worst members of the squad will be a financial straightjacket. I remember him boasing about the contracts and saying that they ‘Keep the squad together,’ who would want this squad kept together ?

  8. Steamer,

Nice comments by Fox I hope someone reads them back to him as they are pulling his neatly manicured finger nails out one by one.

    Andrew,

The championship is not all rough and tumble in fact there are some very good footballing sides in it, but you need a particular mix, Derby have been trying to play too much football over the last few seasons and so too have Middlesboro and are still in there, Brighton are of the same ilk, you need to be able to play ugly and win, teams like Hull and Burnley have that right mix, I can see a team like Sheff Wednesday or even Blues go up through the play offs.

We have all the qualities to do what Wolves did a few seasons back and go straight to league one, I like Garde but I do not think he will cut it next season although I do believe he will walk come the end of this one, and who would blame him, but then we would only replace him with another one of Foxes prize selections.

    John,

Thanks for another excellent piece at least we can share some great memories of some great players who knew what it meant to wear our famous colours.

    SWV

  9. I see Tom Fox referred to us as the “burgundy and blues” what a muppet

I read this on another blog and if it is true it says more about our current problems than any of us can put into words.

    SWV

  10. Reference is made above to the French destroying the club, if this is ever to be directed at a particular country then call out the US first. Lerner and Fox destroyed our club.

As referencing the French relates to on-field activities look a bit closer to home for the likes of Hutton, Lescott, Richards, Gabby, Sinclair as players who have also contributed to the destruction and they’re probably earning more than the French lads.

I’d prefer not single out any particular player or manager, these are symptoms of the regime. A complete lack of investment post MON has put paid to any quality we had and the few bright sparks like Delph and Benteke were never replaced, this wasn’t sanctioned by any manager, this was sanctioned by Fox and Lerner. Even at manager level, if we don’t have great players already or a huge budget then we can only attract a certain level of manager. And when their remit is to survive and/or reduce the wage bill there can only be one outcome and it’s arrived this season.

Cruelly for us fans we’ve flattered to deceive with the likes of the FA Cup semi final against the bindippers only to be found out later.

Truth is we’ve participated in the premier league for too long, that’s a pointless exercise. We should be challenging to make it worthwhile. Relegation will hopefully be the catalyst for real change, imagine if we survived another season and Fox and Co patted themselves on the back, it wouldn’t have changed anything.

Now, we have mass protest, anger correctly directed to the board and absent landlord. Continue this and we’ll hound the causes of our problems out the door, re-group and start again.

Re the second div, completely agree, many teams play football and many teams will enjoy coming to VP to get the Villa scalp but i don’t see us dropping further, we’d be a top draw for 2nd div level players to join us.

Play the kids now forget about surviving, blood them for next season

Re Garde, i understand and agree that Garde hasn’t changed things for the better, the points total shows that but remember he’s working with players who don’t want to work with him, working with players with no pride, with no desire to win and no desire to actually earn what they are paid. For all those who criticise him remember this and explain to me how he is meant to get a winning team out of our lot

    FOLAF

  11. Well said DOR, very good post.
Regarding Garde, i think the British players have let him down, lets be honest most British players are as thick as squirrel shite, i’d bet that the foreign lads have been taught things about footy that our dummies wouldn’t recognise in their testimonial season.

  12. Steamer and all…

I generally agree that the Brits – playing-wise – are probably more guilty.

There are just 2 observations I’d like to make, though:

    1. Until that Ayew sending off I think Garde was beginning to get something working. The results and the play just before that seemed to indicate it … it was then a case of getting more confidence goal-scoring wise. Then Ayew did what he did. But we still managed to win the next game (Norwich) – but that was more to do with the nature of the opposition.

    2. Gabby. Yes, he has disappointed, but I think he was at his best when he had good players around him. That gave him a boost and more space in which to work. Without players of that level he is not the same and we were probably expecting too much of him.

  13. steamer. it nearly made me sick when i read about the contracts handed out to bacuna west ets. thst prob gets my goat more than relegation! complete idiocy. I could get the mrs to watch a game and she would see there all ctepe straight away. And she knows about as much about footy as lambert and mcleish combined……..

  14. JL i agree so much as players do get inspired by having better players around them but i do feel Gabby has gone way past his sell by date in a villa shirt —- even his pace is no advantage to us any more and he has offered very little in recent times and that’s being polite

i think the Garde basher’s are completely missing the point -he has not acquired one single player and we really have no idea what he can bring to the club
the one thing that is clear to me is that our pattern of play has improved under him but without the correct tools to work with (no pun intended) what chance does he or anyone have of getting results

  15. John
Flabby had chance v stoke pulled back same last night cissko put in lovely cross and his reaction to Gabby’s effort said it all, plus ayew sending off happened when matched up with lazy Gabby, ayew made great run looked up to cross the ball flabby was back at halfway line,we quick to moan about foreign lads zog Addy but to me Gabby is worse and I would put lescott with him the Brits plus guzan have been horrendous mistake after mistake,no effort

  16. Can’t understand remi sendross was released yet lescott keeps fucking up,same for Richards, okore only looks OK when partnered with Clark who remi doesn’t play
Sinclair did more running in cameo v pool yet fatso starts next two games even v stoke Sinclair looked OK yet again last night no even a minute why

  17. This is to cheers Steamer up

Just read of Facebook a tweet a villan posted saying he bump into Redknapp in Bournemouth over the weekend and stuck up a footballing conversation about the plight of villa
the chat ended with Redknapp saying yes to the question of would you be interested in the villa job

  18. Until last night, I had backed Remi, but he made too many changes, not only to the team, but to the set-up, and in the end it was a disaster between Hutton, Richrds and Bacuna, without the failure to defend set pieces, and should be marking, defending the posts….it was a complete shambles…and certainly Ayew’s red card has been a turning point in our recent fortunes.

Three yellow cards were also unnecessary, and show a lack of discipline.

  19. Just did some calculations not very scientific but our misery should be complete on April 16th at the Theatre of Screams probably as worse a place to go for the fans to have relegation rubber stamped.

    SWV

  20. Evening all and thanks once again JL

Its worth thinking about who would be our player of the season, Hard I know but I’m guessing he won’t be British. Last night the only players of note cissoko, Ayew and Gana. Also worth remembering that if Garde had got his signings 5/6 of those players that were on the pitch would not be. At least 3 of the defence and probably 4 would definitely not. Croation keeper, Kone at CH, Okore in and Debuchy at right back with cissoko the only player keeping his spot.

As Garde has said there are no tactics to defend set pieces if you don’t first do the basics of clearing the ball, simply as that get to the ball first. I could cry for the bloke he must look on and think Sacre bleu what are they doing???

Then there is the other end and finishing we are terrible nothing more to say.

I did however think garde took too long to change, he should of introduced Gestede at the half for Gabby along with vertout for Westwood.

  21. Mark,

I actually felt that Garde betrayed some panic last night in choosing 3 c-bs that lost one another 3 times too many … too many cooks it would seem.

Also agree that team changes should have come about by the 55th minute as Villa were not making any progress at that point.

So it puzzles me what’s to happen next. We are in danger if getting a thrashing at Man City and then by Spurs unless he’s seen more than I have. The suggestion I’ve seen that Rudy should be played to actually does make some kind of sense – remembering what he did at Anfield. If only that form could be replicated.

  22. I would be trying to blood as many youngsters as possible in these remaining 10 games, tell them to play without fear as we are already relegated, inter grate them with the players we want to keep/will be here next year. We have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain from these younger lads getting game time, it’s not like it’s gonna have a detrimental affect on the results, we lose every week as the song goes.
I’m hoping Fox , Reilly and Almstadt are gone in the very near future, especially now the telegraph and the guardian are stating Fox position is untenable .
Deportivo de la Caruna looking to offer Sanchez a relegation lifeline, and so it begins, let’s have a proper clear out.
I also think Sunderland should be docked 10 pts for playing a Peadophile, Johnson stated in court the club knew everything when he was arrested but continued to let him play, I wonder if they would have done so if he wasn’t one of their top players, just another sign of sheer greed and financial panic over morals.
I see the likes of Arsenal, Man utd, Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool are in talks with a multi billionare over a break away super league, I hate modern football

  23. B62: “I see the likes of Arsenal, Man utd, Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool are in talks with a multi billionare over a break away super league, I hate modern football”

You may not know but that was being talked about as far back as the early 60s. It’s been resurrected a few times since but when the PL started the subject got shelved somewhat.

  24. Leicester made 26.4m last season, it shows what can be done if you employ the right people.
    SWV,
A dog walker mentioned that this morning so it must be correct. Cheerio Tom i’d like to thank you for doing a good job but …….

  25. Although I will be delighted to see Fox and his other two stooges go out the door, why am I reading that they will go at the end of the season, why should Aston Villa pay them to gainfully seek employment elsewhere.
If my company sacks me for sheer incompetency they will not follow it up with, go and find yourself another job take as long as you like in the meantime we will still pay you your salary.

These three have caused damage that could take years and years to put right so get shot now, today preferably before my head hits the pillow tonight so I can sleep a happier little Villan.

    SWV

  26. Hopefully we will be rid of al this toxic gang by the end of the season, and then will it be a matter of finding a new manager, or will Remi stay, and will his assistant from Lyon come and join him, or will he return there????

I hope that Remi may rethink his selections and tactics from now on and give the fans something to look forward to.

  27. great news but let’s hope the three amigos who have screwed Villa over go now and don’t wait until the end of the season.

If they have any sense of dignity or respect for Villa they’d go now (i won’t hold my breath)

Unfortunately that will leave Hollis acting on Lerner’s instructions and Hollis hasn’t got a bog’s notion on how to run a football club, so very easily we could find ourselves in the same position of hiring people not fit for the roles.

We’ll probably lose Remi as well because clearly some of the players are refusing to perform for him and as such are playing their way to sack him, i’d say Gabby in the background is doing a similar job to the one he done on Keane behind the ears of those who will listen saying how bad things are when the one thing that would save Villa is the players fighting for survival.

Best of luck to Remi, again a symptom and not a cause of our problems. Who do we get in his place, I’ve a preference for non-English because i don’t think the manager standards are high enough in comparison to exposure to European training methods/diet/fitness that a European manager gets.

Keep the pressure on – will we have time to sing ‘ Go on now go, walk out the door, just turn around now, cos you’re not welcome anymore’ to Fox, Almstadt and Riley at the next game.

    FOLAF

  28. Regarding the manager, i don’t think we can attract anyone better than Garde. I’t’ll take two or three years to organise the club but that’s his forte, organising as he did at Lyon, give him full control over football matters and he won’t have any excuses if he has the right backing. Every aspect of AVFC is disfunctional and i don’t see a Pearson or Moyes succeeding even if we can attract them. Whoever comes will have to clear the decks first especially in getting rid of the troublemakers, we all know who they are.

  29. Well said Steamer……

roll on Steve Hollis, if you really are going to kill off the weeds and nurture some green shoots….

The fans will back you all the way…

  30. Rudi 6 goals in 24 appearances
    Ayew 5 goals in20 appearances
I know I gave him ( rudi) stick but that’s not worst strike rate ,plus playing in a team that can’t play to his strengths crossing the ball( Hutton Richardson bacuna gil)

  31. We can only hope that Hollis is allowed carte blanche to find replacements by Lerner, we can only hope that King being a Villa fan can guide him in the right direction to seek people with the right knowledge and hopefully an affinity to AVFC.

We can only hope because that is all we have left, like I said before perhaps there is room for a phoenix on our new crest.

    AVFC

  32. Just a quick note on Remi Garde, I think the jury will be out for a long period of time because he has not had a lot to work with over his reign so far, although some would say a bad workman should not blame his tools, but I have a liking for RG and would hope he takes the chance to try to bring us back up first time of asking, although every time I see a picture of him he is looking like the pressure is taking its toll.

    AVFC

  33. Would you look to find a new owner if it meant losing your job. Self-preservation will be the overriding factor for Hollis.

He’ll want to do the right thing while being employed by Lerner but doubt he’ll work himself into unemployment.

  34. DOR,

To be fair this is what people like Hollis do for a living, they try to sell companies on in order for them to thrive, although unfortunately asset stripping is sometimes part of that process, they work in acquisitions and when there job is done they move onto another, in todays volatile financial markets people like Hollis are rarely out of work.

    SWV

  35. It was quite remarkable that when Peter Lupson and I produced a book on William McGregor five years ago most support for the book – by some way – came from Everton.

Great club, great history, great future!

  36. evening folks

SWV- I’d just like to say I’m doing all I can to advise Hollis with my steel toe caps and a pair of pliers.

Well the noises about Fox are encouraging, but One thing I will say is I’d keep riley. The French players are not the problem for me just the team they have had to play in and he suggested Beneteke before leaving for Liverpoo.

B-62 you posted that we should play the youth for next season are you hoping Garde stays then? 😉

I’m hearing noises that the players think Garde is off either way, best thing Hollis can do is make that situation clear. Tell the man he has funds and full say with the backing of our new scouting plus his own and blacks sources should allow us to rebuild without massive cost if we keep our better players. I also hope his coach from Lyon joins him not the other way around.

  37. Mark,
I would say Riley has an eye for a player but why should he be part of choosing the signings ? surely the only the manager knows where and how any new signing fits in with what he has.
To me he’s got a bit to big for his boots, Almstedt is unqualified and Fox knows bugger all about the game so shouldn’t even be consulted.

  38. Steamer- I am not so sure he did directly. From what I understand its his job to offer the manager alternatives if his choices are missed/not viable. I don’t think Tims choices offered any return or were to rich and they said what positions? pick from these. Tim said that they tried to get others in the list but most were 3rd choice or worse. I think they let so many players go under Tims instruction he ran out of time and had to plump for what we had.

  39. Hello folks
As long as Lerner owns the club there is no bottoming out. Will it take him 10 years to fall through the Champions League? If he is still there I’m sure he can do it in 2-3 years.
With Lerner at the helm how can you blame the players for lack of desire to put in a day’s work? When no help arrives in the transfer window?
Garde won’t stay. He said he would if he got backing. I guess the administration said as much last January then delivered fuck all. Once bitten twice shy–back to France on May15th.
No one will want to manage the claret and blue. After watching the shell game with Garde who wants to be shown upas a sucker?

It will be interesting to see which players remain with the club and which ones did it out of loyalty.

He did it to the Cleveland Browns, he charged the absolute maximum on his credit card company. He puts on a grand show of philanthropy but it’s only the financial version of a wolf in sheeps clothing.
If there is money to be wrung out of Villa next year he will. His m/o is to make money–how and where has no bearing on lives made more drab by his dealings.
A sad man. It makes you wonder if Charles dickens foresaw this with his Christmas Carol.

  40. Perish the thought that most of the Brits don’t adhere to Remi’s idea of football, as i suggested earlier, they just haven’t either the nous or ability to cope. If Garde does stay i hope he dumps all these useless, crepe, clueless troublemakers, i’m sure Lescott, Agbonlahor, Bacuna, Clark, Guzan, Hutton and the other dummies will be missed and the 1m or so we get for them will pay Fox’s compo.

  41. Mark k
Gabby has been shit stirrer for years think one reason houiller wanted him out,Lambert lost all his assistants over Gabby yet still gave him new contract why?
Rudi has as many goals for villa over 24 games to Gabby over 24 months,as for the rest most of them need to go(where who wants them)
    We need to shift
Guzan Hutton Richardson lescott wastewood bacuna zog Gabby gil kozak build entire new squad and if fox alstad Riley go I would let garde have first crack at it,it seems he is sticking two fingers up at fox and co by playing worst side possible saying house said they were good enough I am showing you they are crap
Read a good one earlier putting
Guzan Hutton lescott in one team is the same effect putting a fox in a henhouse PANIC

  42. The players messed with houllier a couple of years ago and it’s happening again. You’re right Mark, tell the malcontents to piss off and replace them with the reserves.
They are pointing fingers at Garde and hiding behind the backs of others. What a cowardly bunch. Losers top to bottom save a few.

  43. l heard about this 3 weeks ago , the players are not happy with the training , “its a joke ” so l was told , and they dont like the style of play they are told to use , you,ve read of a couple of players saying they think they could pull it off, and then lv read comments on here about games they have watched and its there isnt it , No corners fro 3 games ….why ?
l was never convinced with Garde at the time ,
Do l want Garde there next season . I dont know , because i dont think he knows enough about the Championship , if we did keep him l think he needs someone with him who knows that league and whats needed , but l think he will walk as the bloke who bought him in (his mate fox) will hopefully be gone ,
whoever is in charge next season (if Garde walks) needs to call a meeting with the likes of Ian Taylor, Sid, God ect and try and work out who we bring in , if they dont take advice then fuck knows .
to be honest though l have locked out the villa in my head as it was getting me down , lm just writing this season off , but you know were going to be in the history books for all the negative records we have broken the last few seasons and will be compared for years with other teams who struggle from now on ..

    Have a good weekend all

    Jenny XXXXXXX

  44. ST75- know how you feel mate. I would worry if the whole squad was saying stuff but its not its gabby the fixer and mutton and co who have been poor for years under different managers. Sick of seeing the crap we troll out on a pitch, 5 fecking years now. Richards for instance binned out of Man city in his prime wonder why? couldn’t get a game in Italy as a CB Tim makes him captain and CB you could not make it up.

Makes me wonder how much has been management as they no feck all about football and how much the patients running the mad house.

  45. Garde needs to go as much as the players

I hope 90% of our players go with garde and Fox

I want Sean Dyche. I like his style ( 442) Simple

We need a man who knows how to get out of the League

  46. Bit narked having read the comments of this American knob about Leicester not being wanted in the proposed Super Lge or even the need to apply. If thats the case then can he explain why the USA is ALLOWED into the World Cup. Quite simply they qualify the same as LCFC have done. It seems to me that these toerags want to take over (destroy) the game in a similar fashion to Lerner at Villa. FIFA must wrestle back control from these idiots by the threat of expulsion of any club who joins this breakaway joke lge and banning any player who plays for those clubs who participate in it, similar to the Colombian fiasco in 1950. Using the USA criteria neither Forest nor Villa would have been allowed to enter the EC ever mind Red Star or Steaua Bucharest.

  47. Well lifers one thing for sure is that we can’t continue down the road we are on next season and the only way forward is to strip the current squad down to it’s bare bones if we are serious about moving forward and coming straight back up

it still puzzles me why randy brought a club and employed a bunch of non football people to run it
If i was rich and wanted to start a catering businesses i would be a mug not to employee people with experience and success in catering as i wouldn’t want to risk peeing my money up the wall

    randy’s’decisions are dumb beyond belief

  48. It occurs to me that the way the game is now run by money-grabbing outfits we may have to adjust our view on sport. Especially in the light of revelations in the athletics camp.

With the additional revelation that 64 people now own half the world’s wealth (Oxfam’s report) with that number likely to reduce to around 20 by 2020, it seems to me that how the entire world is being run is directed towards the interests of that group.

Perhaps we should just all walk away and go back to stamp collecting … or (better, for exercise) to playing table tennis.

  49. JL for me the rot started with Corporations being allowed to form for things other than the completion of a project that has benefits to all people. They now have their own laws and a huge grip on politics. In my opinion this is being used to further the aims of the few over the many without consultation. Even governments struggle to oppose these virtual Islands and truth is stifled for gain as in the oil/pharmaceutical/medical profession claiming they have sole rights over healing you when the evidence is contrary. True science no longer exists, there are good people out there but Ethics have gone down the pan replaced by greed, arrogance and wanting godlike status.

  50. JL and Mark very interesting posts there

Pretty deep stuff – i think i am right in saying the premier league is the most watched league in the world will some matches getting a billion viewers plus so hopefully this will stop any successful break away

I for one would not find a super league format attractive especially without Villa , Everton and the likes , however i think it could work if teams got relegated and promoted within the format

  51. Runtingz- it would threaten the world cup and that won’t happen. That said people would watch it I have no doubt, they watch Corrie and Emmerdale FFS 🙂

  52. If it ends up as a super leaugue and no relegation or promotion or automatic champ league spots for the ‘big’ clubs then im done with the game.

Just think of actually one day getting a villa outfit who we all support and get behind. Wont give a damn what league we are in just want it to happen.

New villa manager….pearson, harry, grayson, moyes? any favs out of that lot?

  53. Well, I am afraid that Remi has gone down in my estimation, having stated that there is no split in the squad, as he has had Micah Richards in the office, and discussed it with him……what a plank….!!!

The official site has got so desperate now we are having Q& A sessions with Richard Dunne….maybe he is going to rejoin us, when we are in the Championship…..

  54. Andrew,
I think Pearson is the pick of that bunch, I think his public image lets him down, but who’s that bothered ? Big Ron rates him and that’s good enough for me but he’ll go to a proper club, Villa would finish his career.
Its getting difficult to judge players now, Jose is a fantastic manager but folk point to Romans dough forgetting what he did with Porto and a low budget. LvG won the Champs with an Ajax team that cost peanuts yet folk still yearn for the cheat to return with all his dirty tricks and intimidation.
Bobby Robson was sacked from every job he had except Ipswich yet people refer to him as a great manager. I think with the slightest backing Garde can grow into this job, when he can operate from a position of strength he’ll sort out the troublemakers.

  55. The Official Site has always been crap, it is devoid of information its even quicker to read about U21 games on opposition websites. I don’t go near it.

I don’t expect opinion, comment from it but things are so bad it’s not even used as a propaganda machine by Fox, the club does little or nothing in the community when you can read all about how Man City or whoever run programmes in schools or youth clubs.

Roll on May 15, all the happy clappers can fuck off, all the fans who come up with this crap about no one tells me to leave a game in protest or you’re not a real fan by leaving, they can fuck off too, we’ll see how many turn up in the Championship.

I’ll be there and probably more than previous years because the club will need my support then, but to sit in acceptance of either the dross on the pitch or the dross in the boardroom is criminal.

I’m in anger mode not at relegation but by the apathy displayed by fans and more especially by the ineptitude displayed by the board.

    FOLAF

  56. Wow any one else seen the footage yet with Garde walking out of the press conference when the press starting pressing him as to wether he had been lied too by the board on taking the job

    he walked rather than answer

more proof of how he has been stitched up in taking on the job

  57. Defiantly JL it’s nothing short of shameful what our board have done in recent times – i really feel sorry for Garde even more so than Tim as he has had no support whatsoever and now he is being blamed for how shockingly poor we are in some sections

  58. DOR,
Agree about the OS, crepe. According to Fox we’re having a new improved site next season so we can look forward to a wonderful opening just like the ……. AVTV showcase. The Head of Communications job at VP must be the easiest job in the World, they never tell us anything except the odd lie.
Garde really is under pressure, virtually everyone’s on his case and the media keep asking him THAT question when they know the answer. I can’t see how he can last ten more games, what a disgraceful club we’ve become.

  59. Mark k
The more the press hound him ,highlights our ( fans) plight it’s a pity on remi but either stand up remi and tell the whole truth or get of the carousel that is villa

  60. PP- its a sad day when a man telling the truth is a called a fool mate, Garde said he spoke with Richards in private after the match he didn’t say what the subject it was because it was private but I assume Richards told him the players were behind him. What a sad world we live in, really feeling like jacking the whole thing in its become poisoned.

  61. JG its not his place to say mate, fox and co are being investigated and will lose there jobs, do you think Remi should stick the knife in? its not his job his job is football not politics

  62. To be fair Garde handled the whole thing with humour and another man I’m assuming an usher of some type asked them to keep to the game they didn’t so he called a halt, Remi pretty much answered with good humour.

  63. Im very very unsure remi is the man for us but theres no way he should be taking all this crepe. Id like all the media to ask remi to pass the questions onto fox and learner.

Steamer id love pearson. done wonders at lester and would love to see him whack gabby. These cowards would be petrified of him.

  64. it was someone higher up at the press conference that butted in saying it was not an appropriate question if you notice

remember Villa’s board like to gag there managers even after they have left as they don’t want the awful truth coming out

  65. Mark k
I agree it’s not fair on garde to answer but that’s what he is getting his millions for like Sherwood Lambert and mcnob, they don’t care about us fans, never have I wanted so many people dead
    Lerner fox Riley alstad
Guzan Hutton Richardson Richards lescott wastewood bacuna Gabby and zog sick watching my team having scum like that associated with them

  66. James: “I agree it’s not fair on garde to answer but that’s what he is getting his millions for “

    Well, I would say it’s not!! 😉

His “millions” is in return for his services as a football manager, not as a media specialist! That should only be a sideshow but we’ve got to thinking that’s the main part of his job!

  67. John l
Well to say he is a manager ?,our results ,performances under remi have been shocking ,yes you can argue his hands are tied but?,last 3 matches flabby has started yet not once broke sweat,Sinclair came on v pool ,and stoke looked interested yet no sign v Everton, guzan brought back into team why? Bunn Wasn’t at fault for many of goals conceded couple clean sheets with bunn,Hutton biggest walking disaster on football field same back in team 2 nd goal at stoke where was Hutton, same as Everton plenty reason to complain about remi

  68. JG- you have to face reality Garde’s title is Manager not magician. He has a squad that is pretty much 15 players tops and most of those he does not rate. Yes he could throw Kids at it but as a decent bloke I don’t think he see’s it as a solution and wont put them through it. If our so called pro’s could provide the support they would need OK but they are too busy looking for excuses for themselves

  69. It doesn’t matter what team Garde puts out imo – we are shhhh – simples

Tim had delph and tekkers to work with last season which allowed us to stay up even though we were cr-p then – without them or suitable replacements the squad is simply not fit for purpose

  70. Runtingz- Delph was our driving force with cleverly last season under Tim, with the bunch we have now I get the feeling they are looking at others and thinking god he’s rubbish without stepping up themselves and thats the prem experienced bunch

  71. Mark k
The way I look at it while remi is happy to take his wages,be a puppet for fox ,he is fair game for stick, abuse he gets, like all the rest that did it
As for players if you can call them that surely some judge would say it misconduct in their behavior, performances sackable

  72. Firstly on this press conference walkout, Iv watched the video( as didn’t see it live), and it seems a storm in a tea cup. The media have every right to ask questions on the state of the football club and if the manager hasn’t been backed or is the job what he thought, they are also going to ask questions regarding the stories in the press like the alleged split in the players camp. they are asking what supporters want to know, as for just talking about the football, what do u want them to ask? “So Remi , we have Man City away this week, how are you planning to keep it down to under a 10 goal defeat” or ” Why are we so poor and why are we getting poorer every week” ” When are we going to win a corner? ” ” Are you planning on staying? Are you rebuilding for the championship” etc All managers have media training, it’s part of there job, they are contractually obliged to appear. He gets paid big bucks to appear, manage and organise the team etc and the results and performances have been shocking, the players are in open revolt and the club is going down the gurgler!! Yes real questions need to be asked of those above him, but I didn’t think the questioning was that bad, others like LVG, McLaren, Big Sam, Jose even Tim Sherwood endured far worse, Pearson went mental in a pressed last year, the pressure is intense because collectively they have destroyed Astin Villa FC, and questions need to be asked.

  73. We can’t afford to let Remi leave simply because any new manager would gives this shower of shite yet another chance, take Agbonlahor, he hasn’t had a good game in the reign of five managers. We need to ship out all the dead wood who have let the club down on countless occasions and now that Remi knows who they are he can give them the boot, can’t wait.

  74. I agree Steamer there needs to be root and branch change at the Villa, and the squad needs pretty much ripping up and staring again, however I’m not sure Garde is the man to do this.
Whoever comes in needs to know he simply has to fuck those off who are dragging us down .

  75. B62. Yes the manager needs to get rid of the trouble makers. . . . a good reason to keep Garde as he knows. Who they are.
JG asked whether players could be dismissed for gross misconduct. It’s an interesting concept. I’d love to see the club taking players through a formal disciplinary process if they could prove that they were acting against club rules. . . . Players like NZogbia have huge incentives to retain their jobs as they wont get anything like the same terms next time round. The club has to have the right to pull them into line contractually rather than through gentle persuasion.

  76. sacking players wont happen as the club will try to get some dosh for them, so calling them useless and crap lowers the useless tossers price further

  77. JG a puppet for fox? fox is being investigated and readied for the boot, not once has he bigged fox up stop taking your lead from JD mate its painful enough listening to him at times 😉

  78. Robbo
It’s an interesting thought, however players and managers seem to operate to a different script to us mere mortals.
It’s the only profession where failure is rewarded. I’d love to see some of these pampered overpaid shits sacked or ordered to pay back the money they are basically thieving , but it will never happen.
Any manager will see in less than 5 minutes who the trouble making useless shits are at our football club. The right man will see a complete overhaul is required.
I feel a bit of sympathy for Garde , but it’s too far down the track, he’s tainted with the stench of failure and has split the fanbase, the dressing room and most prob the boardroom. I think we need a clean sweep from top to bottom and a United club if we have any chance of getting back up in the next 5 years

  79. Mark k
Gone explain what’s so good about remi how he is going to be great manager, forget the last 2 results ,but his record is worse than Sherwood, no new manager lift bar drawing with city that was as good as it got, french lads have not shone ,why has he got a minder now like buddies fox alstad and riley

  80. JG, I’ll grant you that our results under Garde have been awful, but they are still better than Sherwood’s with this squad and even if we lose every single game between now and the end of the season they will ‘still’ be better than Sherwood!
You could hardly find a greater indictment of Sherwood’s management skills could you.

  81. B62,
It would be great to have a completely united club but I’m afraid it will never happen. There will always be something for parts of the fanbase to criticise. . . that’s what fans are like!
As for Garde having split the fanbase I sense a greater level of support for him than most managers ‘despite’ the results.
It’s hard to give a rational explanation based on recent performances, I’ll grant you that though.
Part of it will be fans giving him the benefit of the doubt and sympathy for the unforeseen situation he’s been landed with but I think there’s more to it than that. If he does stay then it looks as if he needs his assistant with him. . . . . sometimes the parts are greater than the whole and like Clough and Taylor we won’t see the best of him until his assistant arrives this Summer.

  82. After three consecutive defeats City will be looking forward to performing against a team so fragile. If they put out a reserve team we may escape with six or seven but this is the ideal confidence booster for them so i expect them to really go for it, anything around twelve is possible. When you have a desperately bad team you’re in trouble but when that same team is completely gutless then its time to get the tin hats out. To be honest i wouldn’t turn up, tell them the coach broke down or there’s been an outbreak of cholera in B6, anything but more humiliation.

  83. Steamer – I thought the concept of Out the Door on 74 was humiliation – but for Lerner and his acolytes. Humiliation might also be payback for the unearned pay cheques for the uninspiring professional players. I’ve managed U-11s with more gumption.

I am preparing to see Championship (there’s a misnomer) football.

I am currently watching Super Rugby from the southern hemisphere and have seen more commitment, more physical effort from these salary capped players than from any of the cosseted players.

After 60 years of supporting Villa I am at a loss as to why I should continue to do so.

  84. Steamer
I agree today has the potential to be one of the heaviest defeats in our history, if City are on this could easily eclipse the 6-0 or 7-1 or 8-0 catastrophes of recent times. Iv predicted 4-1, but fear it could be far worse and could see the end of Garde, there are rumours he tried to resign after the Everton defeat.
Robbo, I think Garde has had an easier time of things until more recently, because of the debacle and circus going on above him and he hasn’t put this squad together. However with the performances becoming way poorer, the impending confirmation of relegation, the split dressing room and the continued circus that is AVFC, he is being brought to task for more of his mistakes, team selections, subs and tactics. It’s the lack of effort, passion, organisation and basics that are really pissing the fans off, especially as we pay our hard earned only to see the team give up in the first 5 minutes of a game and go through the motions for 85 hoping the defeat isn’t too heavy. The pride has gone, the club is in free fall and the first team squad is in disarray. Iv watched more championship football recently( as these will be our opponents next season) and the likes of Middlesborough, Hull, Burnley, Brighton even blues would easily beat us at the moment, we need a massive change in thinking and staff to even compete in the division below.
These are the darkest times in our history, this is the most catastrophic relegation due to the finances in modern football, I can’t see us coming back from this. Locally the kids will all want to support Albion or the Sky 4 , God help us if blues go up as they will become the dominant team in the city for years to come and the club to represent our city at the top Level, especially if they use the TV cash wisely. I was too young to understand the last time they were a division above us, it was bad enough when they finished above us and beat us in the premier league, this will be 100 times worse, we could lose generations of fans to them.

  85. Agree totally Clive.
I understand that there are suggestions that if Leicester win the title and Untied don’t qualify for the Champs Lge that Untied should replace Leicester. Anybody guilty of this remark should be barred from football.

  86. Robbi
I don’t get it how remi results are better than Sherwood
Under Sherwood this season only Chelsea match was by more than one goal and that was by guzan fuck up again
Sherwood stated last season he wanted rid of losers IE squad from Lambert yet what did fox do gave 5 of them 5 year contracts along with flabby ,Hutton new contracts
    Sherwood wanted begovic got bunn
    Lennon. Sinclair
    Addy. Rudi
Sherwood realised quickly he was stitched up and like what remi is doing now wanted out with payoff

  87. B62,
More of the same next season (if we survive). Wolves are for sale at 50m, who would buy Villa at 200m+ when the likes of Wolves are available.
Is Lerner keeping Fox in a job ? another one of his appointments has failed, will Hollis resign if that’s the case ? what a shambles, nice of the club to keep the customers informed, the good old Burgundy & Blue.

  88. Hope today we go for it instead of defending because we just can’t do it.

Better not play 5 at the back. A narrow 442 is the only thing to play.

Sinclair and Rudy better start ahead of Gabby and Bacuna

    1-0 Villa me thinks

  89. Norwich have picked up 1 ONE point from 24 yet remain 8 points clear of villa
    Steamer
Seen stats on sky for city v villa
City 6 homewins in a row
Villa have failed to score in 6 out of last 8 matches
Aguero has 4 goals last 3 matches
Cup match city put out reserve side hammered us by 4 when they declared

  90. JG- tim wanted a huge clear out and we brought in 13 players 13???!!!! this is the man that said we would not be in a relegation scrap with this team and him in charge. He lost Vlaar, cleverly ,delph and benteke, why not buy 4 players and promote some youth then if the squad was mid table quality? because Tim was speaking out of his Jacksie. Fox and co were part of the process but make no mistake Tim Sherwood was the architect of this squad. As it was the funds where not enough to buy the way Tim wanted, probably £30m+ for 3 of his targets lennon, Bergovic and Townsend and their wages would of broke the bank, totally unrealistic in our position.

  91. Dare I suggest that Sunderland could lose points for they continuing to play Adam Johnson while under heavy suspicion?

Just imagine – Villa being saved from relegation if that happens and if they can just get enough points to top Norwich.

  92. Frem,
Think he’ll play virtually the same team and system, City play with wide players and Remi won’t want to see one on ones. I think he’ll go –
    Guzan
    Hutton, Okore, Clark, Lescott, Cissy.
    Gana, Westwood, Veretout, Sinclair.
    Gestede.

  93. The Sunderland CEO sounds like a piece of work, she blocked our GK and apparently all the evidence seems to point that she knew about Johnson.

  94. Mark k
    13 players
    Sinclair was here
    Bunn
    Keeper youth team
Crespo gone Wilkins has said Sherwood didn’t see foreign lads
    Ilor another Jena’s
    Gana
    Vertout
Traore one for future not present day squad remi didn’t play him either
    Amavi
Rudi Sherwood expected Addy rudi was only sub choice who by the bay has scored as many villa goals in 24 matches as superfan flabby in 2 years
Richards even you thought he was good signing, but has turned out to be bigger flop than balaban
Lescott really only onei didnt want and been proved so
It wasn’t Sherwood that gave out contracts
And you still haven’t gave reason why remi such good manager his treatment of grealish compared to lescott, non playing of traore, kozak ,no changes to team battered by pool, bringing guzan back into team same for Hutton ,continuing playing wastewood bacuna bring ING flabby back into squad non use of young players

  95. MK
This squad wasn’t built by Sherwood, he wanted most of them out, he had very little if any say over the summer recruitment po,icy and in an Interview on Sky towards the end of pre season, he was bemoaning the fact he was training players who wouldn’t be at the club or would play no part. We then had a mad couple of weeks where we brought in a load of unknown French players and saw our best players heading for the exit. I’d say the only players he really wanted out of all of them were prob Richards and Gestede and the latter was to be understudy to Adebeyor .
We wouldn’t be in this position If we had bought properly and gambled a bit financially given the rewards for survival and moving up the league a bit. But the committee knew better!!!!!! And here we are, an absolute disgrace of a football club

  96. Steamer – I’m not sure Gestede would profit against the City back line – perhaps we should revert to the way Villa used to play best – on the ground – play Gil

  97. I hear a lot about how Garde has been let down, but what about us, the fans ???!!!!
Garde said he could keep us up with the current squad, and if we had been in with a real shout of survival perhaps he might have been able to do a bit, we’ ll never know, because by then we were cut adrift having missed numerous opportunities/fixtures to get points from, but Garde bottled it by playing too safe, thus no wins in his first 10 matches against some very beatable opposition. We have gone backwards under him, we are definitely more of a shambles now than when he took over, despite a small purple patch following being called out by the fans at Wycombe. I honestly don’t think we would be any worse off if we had kept Sherwood, nothing much has changed, the first 11 are an unorganised shambles that can’t defend, create or score. The same dross start weekly , the squad is divided and not behind the manager and we are rooted to the bottom of the league unable to win football matches.
As shite as we think these players are, they will move on and continue with their careers, where I wager they will play far better.
A lot wanted Lowton gone, well it looks like he will be playing in the division above us, as will Albrighton, James Collins and I dare say Richards will , Lescott will prob go off to the MLS, the French lads back over the channel.

  98. Had to drive to cannock for the daughter to try her prom dress on (another fucking yank moneymaker ) so l went into the bookies as l saw Villa to win 16/1 . so thought a fiver on that , you never know ,
The bookie told me to put it back in my pocket and leave the premises or he will phone the cops and have me sectioned …….. the albion bastard

  99. Sorry lads Tim said he picked players from lists and in most cases we only got 3rd or 4th choices on the list. You can say what your want but Tims options were not viable and Addy never turned up anyhow what does that tell you? His grand plan hinged on adybeyour who stuck 2 fingers up. Tells me they lost faith in Tim to buy the squad successfully so had to step in. In most cases he never got to see the players play live that’s the crux of it.

So we were sailing into a season with players fucking off left right and centre with no squad, it was a fuckfest in which Tim played his part like it or not. what was Tim expecting £100m spend? sell mutton and Nzogbia for £10m to who??? Buy 20+ players that would of been a scream eh?

One thing that was never revealed was how much was available if the 4 players I have mentioned had stayed? £10 mil? 20? 0?

  100. B-62 whats too safe for this lot? we are like a colander, do you imagine Moyes or Sam would be playing expansive attacking football with this lot? everytime Tim tried it they fucked up, parted like the red sea for moses

  101. Yes Clive, that was just the team i think he may play, although City have some big lads and Rudy Rudy Rudy may help to defend corners. As you infer Gil is just as likely to score and would be harder to pin down.
    B62,
Even now we’re only 8 points off, we’ve had so many opportunities to escape only to be hindered by injuries, bad play and cheating refs, i’m not saying we’ve been unlucky by the way, we’re easily the worst team in the division and deserve to go down.

  102. Mark k
Wages too high for Sherwood’s targets, but that football, last season average wage in premier league was between 35 to 40 thousand a week,
Lambert signed tonev, helnius for 4 mplus say combined wage of 40 thousand yet wouldn’t give albrighton contract yet little Leicester did ,next season no lesson learned signed Cole sendross and Richardson for a
Bout 75/100 a week for less than 30 starts in 2seasons between 3 of them in fact 2 had to be paid to leave
Fox seen all this and carried on the madness in one month gave Hutton Gabby and Lambert big contracts that’s were the problems start fpx

  103. MK
I’d say that Moyes would have got more out of this squad and more wins/points than Garde has. It’s all ifs and buts and conjecture, but you can’t argue Gardes record has been diabolical, as to whether anyone could have done better we’ll never know, all we can say you would be hard pushed to do worse than rock bottom.
Watching Burnley v Blackburn, it shows what you need in this league and what all teams have that do well in this league, a goalscorer and a tight defence. Burnley look a very decent outfit, in Dyche they have a very good manager who has them playing very well and for each other, how I’d love that down VP, something we haven’t had since MoN left

  104. Guzan Hutton lescott wastewood and flabby starting
Sky sports tore apart remi manager Matt le tisser if rubbish your ate picking keep letting you down and younger players not better the clubs fucked

  105. B62,
Got a feeling its about to get a lot worse.
Sean Dyche, very good manager but why would he leave a secure job, probably in the Premier, to take over a club that’s a shambles from top to bottom and where the shelf life of a boss is measured in months ? We have to face facts, if Garde goes we won’t be looking at Moyes, Pearson and Dyche it’ll be Mickey Adams, Kenny Jacket, Steve Cotterill etc.

  106. Leeds fans held a mock funeral before their match at Elland Rd, at the perceived death of their football club. We could follow suit. All one way traffic at the etihad,
Yeah I agree we have zero chance of attracting the likes of Dyche.

  107. Do we want to win games?

Pathetic attacking display. No need for wetwood and Shabby to be on

go 442 and get Sinclair and Rudy on

  108. well we ain’t losing so much for wanting Remi out by the players, they seem to be trying we are just to slow in midfield moving forward, thats were we miss delphs runs and Cleverlys forward running.

steamer your right we have had shite luck under Remi to go with shite individual errors

  109. Frem – that was fuck all to do with remi a deflected shot and Richards doing what he does best fuck up. No manager changes a team at the half at 0-0.

  110. Think what won it for City was they only had two English players in the team and subs where we had six of the useless gobshites, move the academy to Africa.

  111. Has anyone noticed how often we have five or six Villa players in our own penalty box to the oppositions one and he scores, just wondered.

  112. We’ve conceded 15 goals in the last 4 games, yet we still set up the same , we still have turds like Westwood, Hutton etc starting, Guzan was awful against Everton yet starts again today. For the life of me I can’t understand WTF Garde is trying to do, why is he rewarding failure , why are we doing the same thing every week and expect different results.
The season is over, we have to start blooding players who are going to be here next season, we have to look at the younger lads.
Can someone explain to me exactly why Garde is the right man for the job going forwards? What has he done to stop the slide? What has he done that shows he is the man for the job and to get us out of the division?
If the answer is only that this isn’t his side, that won’t wash, not with how we are playing and the results he has produced. If it’s he built a decent side at Lyon on the cheap, well that was in ligue1 , a very poor division other than PSG in recent years. He seems a nice bloke but I haven’t seen anything that shows me he could turn around our fortunes, he’s an experiment that has failed. We need a clear out of the board, manager and pretty much all the playing staff, or we will never improve.
Looks like McLaren could go tonight, Blunderland have thrown away 2 vital points at the death. Others are throwing it away if we could have only got our shit together, but we have been in this fight to survive, but we gave up in October

  113. B62
    Couldn’t agree more last comment
Only thought is remi doing a Sherwood wants pay off
    By playing the crap
Guzan Hutton lescott Westwood Gabby and worst of all captain fiasco richards

  114. We are now 9 pts( 10 really due to our -GD) with 9 to play, little old Bournemouth have double our points total, a team that was crippled by injuries to their best players, who play in the leagues smallest ground, with a team mainly bought for far cheaper than our over paid shite.
We have a -33 GD and are basically the joke of the league.
Take a look at Bolton, that is our future

  115. B-62 I’ll explain to you why garde is worth keeping if you can explain to me why any of our brit internationals have ever been worth employing?? as steamer said six blokes in our box all looking for someone else to do the defending. I cannot believe what I am seeing the only reason they lost by less under Tim was Guzan saved a few and the other teams were not up to speed yet. In Gardes words Tactics wont help clear the ball only desire to get to the ball will do that, they came out second half after a back slapping session and folded.

  116. Mark k
    Cpalace defeat down to guzan
Sunderland draw guzan stood behind wall for free kick
Chelsea defeat guzan major fuck up for first goal
I would keep remi only if fox alstad Riley go plus majority of first team squad,

  117. In all honesty i can only remember Blackpool getting relegated with a bigger shambles than we have, look at the state of them, Wolves were better than us and went straight through, folk say we’re Aston Villa and it won’t happen, it does and it will.

  118. Tell me then, as you’ve just proved my point , this is how Garde sets the team up, he picks the defenders and he picks the same ones every week without trying anything different. And why are we only blaming the home grown british players, the French lads have been just as diabolical. We paid £10m for Ayew what a fucking joke, yes he runs around a bit but he isn’t a natural goalscorer, Veretout and Gana are very weak and anti yours in a lot of the games, Amavi has potential but still went missing in games and gave away important goals, Cissokho is utter shit, Gestede is crap he is a statue, Gil far too lightweight, Nzogbia is nothing more than a Thundercunt , far worse than Gabby. Yes the Brits/Irish have been shite some for years, but the split is plain to see and I can’t say one player in that squad has done well or put in 100%. This manager hasn’t galvanised the squad he’s fractured it, there is no spirit, no fight, no togetherness nothing, there are no positives about ANYTHING at Villa, not the owners, board, manager, players and even some of the fans.

  119. And meant to say kmac Sid and all go if we haven’t go reserves better than the 6 wankers time for all youth coaches to go
Steamer villa defence have a habit of marking space and as my old coach said space never scored a goal

  120. I’m lumping on Villa to get relegated next season, they are a fucking disgrace and it’s what we deserve.
If Hollis is actually here to shake things up he needs to start sacking cunts like Fox, Akmstadt, Reilly and co.

  121. B-62 the foreign lads were supposedly brought in to be coached along not to form the spine of the team as has turned out. The spine of the team in Tims eyes richards , sanchez/westwood? gabby /addy.
can you see what I’m getting at? plonk lennon and any of Tims blokes or the French lot with that and it would fall apart. From what you have described we have a team full of lightweights and useless cnts, how exactly does garde polish that turd? why did he want to buy an entire spine for the team?

  122. Tom Fox, the club’s chief executive, was more bullish in a recent briefing. He said: “Aston Villa Football Club is bigger than the results in any one season. Aston Villa Football Club does not go away if we are relegated. We play football next August and we hopefully do it with an organisation that is prepared to compete and to succeed and to come right back up.”
    TWAT

  123. Too be fair i think the club was broken long before Garde arrived

Gabby looks as though he isn’t trying at – in the past despite his failings he has given effort and has contributed to a lot of the minimal success we had in staying up
as the most senior player his performances and antics have help to seal our fate —– he is meant to be Mr villa 🙂 what kind of example is he setting to the many new players

I like Garde but i have been disappointed that he hasn’t been a little more attack minded — on the other had inquires and suspensions haven’t helped

Lescott did o today but saw his team mates go awol far too often — the goals against us are so easy and we officially have the laziest squad in the prem

  124. Steamer
    You are contradicting yourself there
Playing the fat fraud to me is unforgivable, if remi trawled all the soccer around Birmingham he couldn’t find a lazier arrogant prick

  125. Can’t say this is fact but there are strong suggestions that a least the last few managers have had to deal with the influence of player power within the club

  126. The spine that you say TS wanted??? He didn’t want Guzan , Westwood, Sanchez or Gabby. He wanted most the squad gone as they were shite, yes he was unrealistic in wanting to keep Delph, Cleverley and Benteke. But Townsend / Lennon/Begovic /Heaton etc are all better than anything we have. But your missing the point in purpose Garde will have been in charge for over 3/4,of the season and it will be him who takes us down, getting hammered and embarrassed every fucking week, not a Sherwood!
I get Sherwood was crap and played his part in this debacle, but what I don’t get is support for this manager who has made a poor side worse and doesn’t know what he is doing. He is NOT the sole reason we are going down, but he is definitely part of the problem and has to take responsibility for his role in this pantomime.
I get they aren’t the most talented bunch, despite many being internationals but the lack of cohesion and effort and fucking pride is down to the manager.
No one should get a free pass in this investigation into what’s gone wrong especially the manager
Leicester were laughed at and called a joke when they were losing every week, but there togetherness , organisation and spirit turned it round, that stemmed from Pearson , Garde looks like a substitute French teacher that has upset the class and lost control, he is so out of his depth its a joke. It’s clear he won’t be here next season, he will either walk or get sacked in the big cull. We should be starting that cull now, showing we mean business in getting ready for next season, because this one has gone

  127. imo

there is no manager out of the last 2 to blame

if Tim had this squad last season we would be in the championship , hence his speedy departure

Garde took the impossible job and maybe with some backing he might of made a fight of it

Not saying he is the right man but it’s hard to judge when he has nothing to do with creating any of the squad and is manager of one of the worst run ships in football

Give the managers all a break i say and look at the root of the problem – lerner

  128. There all to blame, Lerner Faulkner Fox Almstadt Reilly the managers the players the entire club, until we have root and branch change we will continue in this downwards spiral.

  129. I don’t get up out of bed anymore to watch. I record just in case than check the score to see if it’s worthwhile. Today I looked and thought 4-0 not a bad score. I guess my expectations have really sunk low. A sorry bunch.
On an other note, the championship isn’t televised here. Any recommendation on a prem team to watch next year while I wait for a return?

  130. b-62 I did not say Tim wanted that spine its just what his dealings left us with bar addy. Its like attempting to add decoration to a tree that doesn’t exist whats that about?

you can quote those players till your blue in the face they were never coming to villa simple as. Bergovic? one call from chelski and we were dust. others turned there noses up to. make out we could of got them if you like but at what price? I wanted messi turns out he had a hair cut booked in that season.

You keep saying garde has been in charge its his fault, so what your telling me is we really have a mid table team hiding in this shambles that remi has failed to find? therefore the very people you want out in fox, alma cogan and Riley are actually football geniuses that can see a player from deep space and tim, garde etc are fecking morons for not seeing there meteoric potential?

  131. Ther’s no point at all having a go at Garde. Maybe not even Tim.

It’s clear where the culprits are and it all stems from the owner.

In fact it was clear from early days that he wanted only to apply his own ideas despite pleas from people like J. Fear to do otherwise.

The effect of applying his own ideas is what we now see in front of us; nice facilities but no players that have any resemblance of fight amongst them.

The club has been pulled down to the lowest possible level.

I see that Tom Hanks hasn’t been mentioned lately.

  132. MK
Mid table( where have I mentioned we are good enough for that??) No, but 17th yes, as poor as this squad is, we certainly should be doing better and be bearer the survival line. You are admonishing Garde of all responsibility for this mess, are Norwichs/bournemoths/Sunderlands players that much better than ours man for man?? At the beginning of the season there were many on here and across the blogs lauding our business , bringing so many continental players in ( I wasn’t). Newcastle do have far better players than us but are in free fall, managed and set up properly I feel we could have scraped over the line, but we are relegated playing abysmal football getting thrashed every week. Garde was smiling and joking at the end of the game with Pellegrini, the players were again static, unorganised, lacking in spirit, fight and didn’t seem to know there roles or have the ability to stick to them. Playing this formation has meant conceding 15 goals in 4 games, we have a -33GD and look a pub team. Don’t get me wrong Lerner and co are the main culprits, the players are poor but no way should either Sherwood or Garde get away without blame simply because of those above them.
The Mirror are reporting Garde will definitely go at the end of the season and have even muted him walking before then, I say he’s no loss as we have been beyond shocking under him and the stench of failure will haunt him for a long time, he isn’t the right man for next season as the hangover from this disaster would break him, we need a fresh start, get rid if a Fox, Almstadt, Reilly and most the players, regroup and start again from the championship. Unfortunately I can’t see Lerner going anywhere in the short term, not until all the loans are repaid

  133. B62,

Is there anything wrong in Garde talking (and smiling) to Pellegrini? In any case what I saw was just good mannered behaviour between the two … not anything OTT, which is what you’re trying to infer!

Any manager that has not been allowed to buy in the January window (after, apparently, being first told that he would be able to) and having to suffer long-term injuries to players like Amavi and Sanchez as well as Kozak, is to be commiserated with. Especially as Ayew then effectively lost us the way when he got red-carded. And two replacement strikers fell injured the same week.

An owner that’s worth any salt at all woiuld be at VP rallying the troops instead of staying in front of his log fire, in comfort. So what signals do the players get? They must think that if Lerner doesn’t care, then why should they.

B62, I admire your concern for the club, but it’s misplaced I’m afraid.

The simply issue is that only when the club falls back into the hands of a truly sympathetic owner will it be alive again. Maybe it never will be – maybe AVFC has run its course. But whatever the case, there’s no point in *us* wasting energy until the situation is corrected up top.

  134. Some doubt about these loans, 300m according to some yet for the last few years we’ve been told that the club is almost breaking even, which is it ?

Time for Agbonlahor to be sorted, neither fit enough, motivated or talented to play league football and a stirrer as well, if Remi plays him again then he’ll lose whatever support he has from the customers. Lets be honest here, it’s impossible to justify his downright lack of effort, disgraceful.
TBAR has some juicy comments and apparently some revelations will soon appear in the tabloids about his off field antics, that doesn’t bother me, the fact that he puts in 0% effort does.

  135. Less than 3/4 of the clubs relegated from the PL bounce back at the first, the ones that do are generally more stable and keep hold of the nucleus of a decent team, or were unlucky to go down. Unfortunately we are none of the above, we are the polar opposite and don’t have the players to bounce back at the first attempt.
I see Moyes is being heavily linked to take over at Newcastle, another good manager out of our reach. It’s devastating what’s going on at Villa, I honestly can’t see any light at the end of the tunnel

  136. JL
No one is saying Garde hasn’t been dealt a shitty hand, but he has been a disaster , making a poor team so much worse, the players don’t want to play for him, I’d get rid now, he won’t be here next season anyway, let’s get someone in to evaluate the absolute shite we have, so he doesn’t waste time over the summer. The new manager needs to have say over his recruitments, Fox and the committee need to be gone, We need to start the revolution early, we have to get the fans back on side, we need a sensible ticketing structure ie big reductions to get fans through the gate , especially when we are playing shite like Rotherham on a Tuesday night in mid jan!! No bullshit like freezing prices and saying you get extra games!!!
We need to offload most our squad, and rebuild, we need to incorporate youth and the likes of Gardner.. This process has to start NOW not the summer

  137. B62,

Perhaps we should just accept that the top brass didn’t bring in someone who was specialised for the job of keeping Villa up rather than attack Garde? I get the feeling that if Garde had been here from the summer we wouldn’t be where we are … but we’ll never know.

It seems to be the at the top brass must have been convinced that their summer buys offered the club exactly what it needed and that it just needed someone like Garde to massage them into a fighting unit.

The truth – of course – is the summer signings were too many and lacked enough quality and experience to help Garde. Having said that, Hutton, Richards and Lescott (and, yes, Gabby) – who should have provided the leadership – have distinctly failed. That – I don’t believe – can be down to Garde but something in the players themselves, as has come out in their attitudes of wanting to relieve their tedium in big houses, fast cars and generally playing games rather than help the club 100%.

I so clearly remember Villa players falling to the turf in desperation back in 1959 when they had been relegated by a late goal. They had pride in those days … where is that pride today>?

  138. For any one who thinks remi is innocent of all wrong doings, not his fault team for his first match on left yesterday s team on right
    Guzan. Guzan
    Hutton. Hutton
    Amavi. Cissko
    Clark. Clark
    Richards. Richards
    Sanchez Lescott
    Gana. Gana
    Vertout. Vertout
    Gil. Wastewood
    Ayew. Ayew
    Sinclair. Flabby

    Subs
    Lescott. Gil
    Bacuna. Bacuna
    Bunn. Bunn
    Grealish. Sinclair
    Rudi. Rudi
    Zog. Okore
    Richardson. Lyden

That blows injuries out of water 13 of 18 man squad the same

  139. James,

I think you’ve mis-read what has been said, and I’m afraid you’re mis-staying the squad. e.g. Lescott is not an alternative to Sanchez.. It was/is not just a question of numbers but *which* players were out.

Injuries have played a role at crucial stages – and still do … Amavi, Sanchez, Traore and Kozak are still out.

The issue *now* is much more to do with self-motivation … and this lot have shown little of late. This can be traced back to Ayew’s red card *and* injuries to 2 other strikers the same week. Since then – particularly after the Liverpool debacle – they’ve looked like limp rags.

All exacerbated – of course – by horrendous errors in defence and give-aways in midfield all season. That’s nothing to do with Garde.

  140. JL- Spot on

JG- what was so different yesterday to Gardes 1st game? One they wanted to impress and listened to his instructions and it was at home. Two we actually played very similar yesterday but with 5 at the back for the first half. Three City missed 4 guilt edged chances in the 1st match. And Four the biggest difference they didn’t have Aguero. City have smashed all the bottom clubs at their place including Newcastle 6-1.

  141. John l

Ayew sending off was down to one thing remi starting flabby, since flabby came back into match day squad we have fallen apart loses
    2 0 60 21 31 40 plus 40 in cup 21 goals conceded 2 scored God we went almost 3 matches without corner
Players missing amavi replaced by cissko who to me one better performers, some nice crosses that flabby ran out of the way v stoke Everton, traore remi didn’t start him so rule him out same for kozak and grealish to some extent so that’s only Sanchez of players available that remi couldn’t. Play
So I blame remi for putting flabby back into team for changing the entire attitude of squad when a 3 stone overweight lazy bastard can start why would any one try,now MOTD have shamed flabby along with sky how can reml pick him again

  142. Mark k
Everton stoke westham and Liverpool spanked us ,city had lost 3 straight, pool form was shocking stoke hadn’t a fit back 4
You can’t keep absolving remi of blame in first match v city Hutton gave up 3 sitters, stoke 2 nd goal down to him as was Everton 2 nd,plus 2 corners from his side, yesterday can’t remember which goal it was he was tripping over his own feet he that useless but remi keeps playing him same with guzan the clown, bunn did OK in his matches compared to clown guzan

  143. The blame is collective, it’s how we move forwards, and no one is “attacking Garde” just pointing out his part and failings in this thoroughly miserable season, which has to go down as one of, if not the worst in our history, given the current financial climate.
For me we have to clean house and break free from as many tainted with this disaster as possible. Moyes, Pearson, Warburton, Dyche ( if unsuccessful with Burnley) are early names , maybe go left field with the likes of Gary Neville or Zola, whoever it is we should be looking now

  144. B-62 If your going to knock Remi then you have to take everything into consideration not just say he hasn’t improved us because that is not true.

When he arrived we became more organised, he lost Amavi and next game Richardson gets his arse handed to him by Everton, we then steady the ship with some draws a narrow loss with some spawny goals to Watford. By the home game against wet spam which we should of won (hutton allowed creswell space) we had dropped Richards and Ayew was starting to motor, the team on the whole looked much better.

Next games Norwich and Sunderland, we have At least 5 changes because of injuries and suspension. richards back in with hutton and clark no sanchez screening it goes to rat shit.

now we are into the window and its all over the papers who we want even though Garde tries to keep it low key not to upset the current squad. Debuchy is wanted so that pisses on hutton and richards chips. Gabby hasn’t played under remi and he uses Kosak and is looking for a forward, no guesses what that means for Gabby. We look for a Keeper, Guzan and Bunn not good enough. we also look at Kone a CB, clark and lescotts position.

We then have wycombegate as the lazy shit heads are sulking as their positions are threatened. Again Richards is dropped and we beat palace, kosak plays, richards and Hutton dropped.we then draw with leicester and suffer 3 penalty shouts denied in successive games.

next up City in the cup Richards and clark in we get stuffed and that is the end of Jan. By this time we have a lot of injuries mostly forwards and midfield so after a window of gabby being touted to be sold he’s back in. We play west ham off the park for 15 mins then Ayew is sent off. Garde has basically said rightly or wrongly after being denied players that he will sort his future at the end of the season. I forgot Hollis arrived too, another distraction. Never the less we beat Norwich and Richards has been playing at RB and not exactly set the world alight.

By this time the players know remi will probably go and that if he doesn’t so will a lot of them.
We get stuffed by Liverpool Richards is subbed, by now we have nothing up top bar gabby, we lose at stoke and go 352 for the next to games to try and stem the tide but our lot have completely jacked it in with talks of riffs in the dressing room.

Remi has failed? more like remi has a group of self centred useless players and no backing from above. As for are Norwich, Sunderland etc better man for man? doesn’t matter they are better Teams that have been together longer and don’t have Guzan Bunn Richrds Hutton and bacuna as main stays.

  145. hi steamer just read your comments sticking with Remi for now well that confirms what steamer 75 says that you have finally lost all sense and reason was it bluey your dog i remember he would have more control of the side this idiot is shot gaz and i hate to say is the worst ever flabby has but on another stone like you say now 3 stone overweight he is just getting fatter and garde picked him how can any player in the side put in a shift on the pitch when they look around and see scabby richards hutton bacuna the crab playing yesterday to be fair guzan was villas best player by a mile this shows how crap the rest are and garde is picking them if none of the u 21 side are good enough to play in this side including GG and calder then cancel all their contracts today as they aint good enough to be footballers if they are not better than these lot then sack them or the manager

  146. JG- what choice does he have other than a load of unseasoned kids? I must admit by now i would just say Feck it these arseholes are not worth it and play green, davis , lyden. Remi if anything has been too loyal to the useless seniors

  147. Mark k
Couple very good posts there mate
And yes stick in the kids the other lazy bastards should be in morning evening Sundays training fuck them, make them train on Sat afternoons as well see how they like there week been ruined
    Ike ours

  148. As far as lm concerned the whole lot has to Go . Garde included .a mate on way back said the concensus is that he has given up and proved it with the sub of Bacunna , some on here been saying play the kids . they aint kids if they’re in that squad , get that out your head , we were losing so what was the difference in putting them on . were down , start blooding them now so they know what its like to play in front of a crowd because next season most of them are going to thrown in and all we will hear is ” their Gelling ” well lets gel some now . as said amate was there today and he said he watched Garde and he said looks like he thrown the towel in and just going through the motions , now lm going to believe him over some newspaper reports or any links thrown on here as this bloke goes home and away every week , l remember someone on one of the blogs stating Garde was bought here to sort the French blokes out and he may even had had a input into those players coming here , well that went up the piss wall ….., sorry MK but French players as a spine of the team . no way mate . someone l know knows a sports therapy person over there and they said if we need players to fight our corner dont bank on french players ,
lm out tonight and theres going to be a right mixture of fans and who’s the one going and looking a cunt in the corner ??

    2) watched MOTD and they panned onto the management after the 3rd went in and not a murmur from any of them , not even a wince or twitch . well if thats the team we have trying to sort this lot out were in bigger trouble than we think and it confirmed what my mate had said he saw during the game ,
and then all were hearing about is a massive club “Newcastle ” are in trouble …. media given up on the villa , massive Newcastle my arse but that is what the villa have become , a nonentity in their eyes ,

  149. MK
He hasn’t improved us though, he had a period of games where he did ok, but in his tenure we have been thumped twice by Everton, Twice by City( once in the cup and should have lost the home game as you pointed out, they missed sitters), thumped by Liverpool( worst home defeat in 81yrs), beaten by our relegation rivals who at the time were in poor form, before the transfer window, took 10 games to win a match, has lost the dressing room, split the fanbase, failed to stem any tide of relegation only accelerating it, failed to try anything different and continually plays underperforming shite. We can’t even win a fucking corner.
Is it all down to Remi, NO , it’s down to EVERYONE and that’s why we need a complete overhaul. The right man at the wrong time, is still the wrong man. It was a bizarre appointment and it was never going to work, he is so far out of his depth and doesn’t have a clue how to stop this circus. Should he have been backed in January?? Probably, but it was the equivalent of pissing more cash up the wall, the keeper couldn’t get a permit, Debouchy was never going to come once a French side wanted him, he was short term and cost millions to no end result.
I sit there and watch this shower every week, not highlights or on TV, they are disorganised, they aren’t set up right, they struggle with the tactics set, and don’t show any effort, passion, fight or anything. You look over to the sidelines and Garde isn’t trying to change anything, no subs no animation no clue, he justs stands there with his arms crossed doing nothing and his team reflects this. We aren’t going to agree, but for me he isn’t psrt of the solution, which makes him part of the problem, the sooner he is gone the better. But him leaving cannot be the end of it and he is made out to be a scapegoat, a Fox, Almstadt and Reilly also have to go. As for the players, I’d get rid of as many as possible, Guzan, Richards, Cissokho, Nzogbia, Westwood, Sanchez, Gana, Gil, Kozak, Traore, Veretout, Gabby, , Hutton the list is endless

  150. B-62 I have watched every game this season bar one Cup game that wasn’t televised anywhere. We have a large French speaking contingent and the likes of Gabby ruling the roost who’s no genius. After seeing the quickly removed Xmas Video tells me all I need to know about our so called senior players. Do you honestly think not playing for the manager we don’t like him is an excuse in any way or form? Do you think after many games for us and other clubs these cnuts don’t know where to stand or how a formation should be played? if they don’t or are confused by Remis talk then they have black to explain it to them. What your saying is Remi has given them the wrong instructions?? or no guidance, I’m afraid you give the players far to much credit. When the players are out there they should make their own decisions as thats their job. If they are following Garde’s instructions to the letter then Garde’s shit, if they are incapable which is how I see it then how does he change it??

St75- never said the French were the spine, they have been put into a team without one in fact our spine is spineless. I don’t blame him if he has given up but he’s a quiet bloke no telling whats going on in there

Spoke to a baggies fan last night he said they were amazed they got £2m for lescott his legs were gone last season. He also said we should get Rednapp in to get us up 😉

  151. B-62 by the way this no corners business has only been since we have had gabby up top and played 4 of the top 8 we are about to play another.

  152. why has fox not been sacked a fizzy pop salesman who knows f all we have one of the cleverest men in the world waiting in the wings in uncle merv saw him today on marr show clever man has about 10,0000 time the brains of poxy fox

  153. Mark
as stated he has had no respect from the players , no respect from the twats upstairs (january transfers) and he’s losing the respect of the fans ,
if l was in that enviroment , l would resign and walk , also l would come out and explain why l have walked , yes we have all heard the rumours , but if he is the decent man you think he is , he could tell us fans what went on and he would be a hero in our eyes , but it aint going to happen , money methinks .

well off to Heathrow to drop Chris off ,
    enjoy your day
And Happy Mothers day Jenny xxxxxx

Matt All the best for the future Mate

  154. I just can’t understand why this conversation continues! (?)

If some think Remi is as much to blame, then so be it.

Others think differently. So be it.

The club is in pitiful state through the owner and all we want to do is argue about the manager without obviously getting anywhere?

You lot seem to accept the old Romano-British system of divide and rule. This is exactly what Lerner wants – to have the attention taken away from him. And we all fall for it by doing exactly that!

  155. john it is garde still playing the useless players week in week out they have stuck 2 fingers up to him with their performances and he just accepts it we all know who should not play well i do any way at least 5 of them should never be allowed to be near the team and the fact he lets scabby get biger and biger tells you he has lost it any other manager with balls would stop his pay as there must be a cluse in a pro footballers contract that states if you are 3 stone overweight we will not pay you only then will fatty go to their gym or cancel his Kentucky and big mac account

  156. John l
To bring down a temple ypou go for weakest point that is remi, tome as a man remi should have walked the minute January transfer window shut when Lerner hung him out to dry,let fox then get some one to come in to end season with foxs squad not Sherwood not remi squad FOX swquad

  157. Hello JD, hows things ? Watching Villa implode isn’t good for yer marlies mate.
I doubt if any customer could name three members of staff they want to stay for next season, including players and admin. By the way Merv is a Tory/Lerner puppet that’s his nature, my nephew knows him on a business level and doesn’t rate him.
Never saw MOtD, whats this about Flabby ?.
One of the problems with football is the use of the word professional, has anyone seen professionalism at VP since MON left ? Which brings me on to Houllier, we were in deep shite until McCallister took over, it was him that saved us that year not Houllier.

  158. Jl – to be honest what irks me is plenty of fans gave up on us staying up before xmas calling us the worst team and claiming there was not 3 worste teams. Now the chickens have come home to roost garde is at fault for not saving us? Well we cant have it both ways.

  159. JD,

Whatever Remi is doing wrongly (if anything) then that’s because of the situation down there in my view.

Him walking isn’t going to achieve anything at this stage in the season.

But I agree with some who say he may as well try out youngsters … it’s now too late for the club to be saved i.m.o. But Remi thinks that while we are mathematically in with a chance he will keep plugging away with the shower he’s got.

  160. gaz they remarked of flabby not moving and not being fit he is fatter than ever at least 3 stone overweight they had a photo on the b mail selling his 3 mill plus hose had a gym as they said when selling it unused but the photo shows him his belly is like he is wearing a life belt sherera said just the same as Newcastle unfit players who don’t give a toss but to let him play is a joke 14 and a half stone he was 11 2 when he played for England that over 3 stone keno said the same when he was 14 stone now he has put on another half it is a joke

  161. JL
I agree we need to agree to disagree on Garde, it’s pretty evident he won’t be here next season so we need to try and think of realistic targets to replace him, and the type of players we need in overhauling the squad. We are all in agreement the 3 stooges should be removed as soon as possible, unfortunately it won’t be as easy to get rid of Lerner. We need to get Steve Stride back in the board for balance. I’d be lining up the new manager asap, and start putting a plan together to arrest this downwards spiral

  162. JD,
But he’s a legend. When they sing that song about him i could vomit and some folk even reckon he’s still got pace. Thats Villans for you.

  163. MK
Garde is PART of the team, and yes after his first 10 games without a win with missed opportunities, It did confirm to me we are down, it prob did to Lerner too, hence he didn’t hand over any cash to Garde as it didn’t seem worth it, Debuchy would have left at the end of the season, the keeper couldn’t get a work permit and Kharzi chose Sunderland .
We are going round in circles, the end result is we are relegated, now we have to focus on how we turn this around and get back up, there is no time to waste, a decision on Garde needs to be made now, either way whoever the manager is, he needs to be sufficiently backed and the 3 stooges removed allowing the manager to do it right.

  164. OUT
    Guzan
    Hutton
    Clark
    Robinson
    Richards
    Ayew
    Bacuna
    Zogg
    Steer

    Agbonlahor
    Bennett
    Westwood
    Gana

    KEEP
    Bunn ( No2)
    Cissy
    Baker
    Gardner
    Veretout
    Sanchez
    Gestede
    Amavi
    Traore
    Grealish
    Gil

Some of the keeps may not be the best of players but at least they give effort.

  165. Can anyone believe WBA have 20 points more than us, more than double our total. This season can’t end quick enough, Iv never been so embarrassed or ashamed to be a Villa fan.

  166. B-62 I couldn’t agree more Hollis needs to start Talking. I still feel Garde has a lot to offer and is already in a position to start a cull and make no mistake that is what’s needed.

We all want some pride back in the side But as Villa fans we do focus on ourselves a lot. We should ask ourselves have any other teams been so careless in defence? for me no and its now begun to get worse, so nothing has been learnt by the players. Also have any other team got a squad so bad that their fans are calling for all their youth players to start? again not to my Knowledge.

This has been an amazing season for many reasons, 3 prem stalwarts in the bottom 3 Leicester top spurs in contention west ham top 4, city the only big team in the top 4!!! we may never see its like again. The one moment that has made me see garde’s position as impossible was the bringing down of Jose at Chelsea. The same team he led to the title last season engineered his removal. If a team or half a team can do that to the league winning manager what chance the unwanted bloke at the bottom of the table? clear the decks.

  167. Steamer
    A few changes
    Let go
    Sanchez
    Gil
Not be up to it championship
    Keep
    Clark works OK with okore
    Sinclair might score a few
Other than that ship them out

  168. Steamer,

Actually there are several in your list of “Outs” that may well do well in the Championship, and that would include (i.m.o.) Clark, Okore, Gana, Ayew and … Gabby and Lescott.

However, I don’t think Ayew and Okore will want to stay for their own reasons.

The others I’ve listed should probably be retained for the sake of continuity, but would go once promotion is achieved. Er, if…

  169. Garde has been stitched up big time by the board and the senior players – this leaves him no viable options for this season

He isn’t going to stick around for next season – question is who the heck is going to want to come and work for and with this bunch

The big draw is the name Aston villa for managers – drew to the standing in history and the fact it is a sleeping giant

Problem is when the start working for the club they all end up regretting it – only bonus is the massive payoffs and gagging bonus

  170. Well after reading all Remi’s comments about the match, and the fact that the only plans he had were to try and contain City , and no plan for attacking, or fighting back , if they went a goal down. His whole set-up in recent games has been about damage limitations, nothing about fight or effort.
MoTD were in unison over how lazy and laid back most of the Vila players were, especially Flabby, Richards and Hutton, and a total failure to chase back and recover.

We are a laughing stock now, the team the depressive manager, who has no animation, encouragement, or stomach for the battle.

The most we can do as fans now is to show our disgust by letting the team play to an empty stadium…

  171. I’m out of the country and didn’t see the game and have only just started reading a few reviews.
The first one (the guardian) says that we played well and contained city in the first half (which was the plan) but collapsed once their first goal went in.
That sounds as if the players carried out what the manager had asked for in that first half but that confidence is so low that once we conceded the heads went down.
Everyone on here now seems to agree that the quality of players at the club is not good enough so this suggests that the manager did ok with what he had at his disposal.

  172. Just catching up with comments on here too.
I always rely on JD for reliable accurate information so was shocked to see that Gabby’s has gone up by half a stone just in the course of the last 24 hours from 3.5 stone overweight to 4 stone overweight!

  173. I still very much hope the Garde stays, but if not, I do think that we will be a decent draw for managers who fancy the glory of bringing us back to the big time. The experienced ones worth their salt will of course be looking for guarantees of investment funds being available.

  174. I hope Remi doesn’t stay. I don’t like how he’s been setting us up. we had chances to beat Stoke and City going into the second half, but he changed nothing at HT to win those games. And by 50 mins, we were 2 down. That’s what you get when you just defend and don’t care about attack

Garry Monk I think would be my number 1. He’d come with a clear way of playing.

    Rodgers and Moyes wouldn’t come

Pearson, Bruce and McClaren are most likely. enough to make you go and get a season ticket at WBA

  175. Robbo,

I agree. If Garde doesn’t stay, just who is going to come in under the Top Brass that we have?

Definitely Villa’s name and history is a magnetic pull, but by now word must surely have got round as to what it’s like working at VP. The big issue for me is that we need a new (truly sympathetic) owner with gumption and until that happens we’re not likely to be happy with anything that takes place at VP.

  176. Robbo- I agree with you assessment there was no way we were going to go out and attack city at their place and were using what little pace we had in gabby and Ayew to counter. Our problem other than being complete crap is no pace in the midfield and little up top. We had plenty of opportunity to hit them but it was all to slow. I think this team is better when we can keep the ball and press teams but against the better sides we are one mistake away from disaster with the fragile mindset those poor internationals have. Just having Adama available would make the system more likely to succeed defences know they can defend how they like with Gabby jogging about.

I wish Garde would use Davis he’s strong and no slouch but I think with trying to keep the peace and the squad together Garde is hamstrung in his selection possibilities.

  177. Mark & JG,
    Yes it was him.

    Frem,
Yes you can, a mates son moved over a few years ago and got his badges and coaches at Kaka’s club, Apparently the Scottish badges are very good that where Mourinho got his, you can see the state of the British coaching system yourself, also how many Brits are working abroad ? The UEFA A badge is a GUARANTEED pass but i understand that you have to be proposed by an affiliated club. Check on FIFA or UEFA sites.

So the unprincipled thug Steve Bruce is favourite to succeed Remi, another joke from the nofuckalls that run AVFC, i’d have gone for Sean O’Driscoll.

  178. Also heard that Petrov may be helping out, rampant popularism, nothing to offer, another so-called legend who doesn’t live up to the title.

  179. Mark k
Gabby JOGGING about seen snails in the garden move quicker
How does fox justify give Gabby ,opponents star man Hutton, laughing boy bacuna, wastewood Westwood new improved contracts

  180. It’s time to stop appointing any more Hollis,King and black we need red out from top to bottom even youth coaches, give either remi or a Moyes character chance to rebuild everything,we are down but it’s to come straight back up with a squad of quality players not excuses of ones there now
Surely flabby must be breaking some rule by been so overweight sackabl

  181. Fox, learner and co should be getting ALL the abuse and anger, not remi. I dont want him because of his tactics and repeatedly playing the same shit side?! what are you doing!? And i dont understand those who back him? what is it based on? But like i say he aint the problem.

I would bloody love steve bruce, been there, done it, got the t shirt. Knows the championship like the back of his hand, plays ok footy, likes to play youth and a genral good eye of player.

  182. I agree with Frem in terms of Garde not being positive enough — i can understand the caution due to us being so dire and unable to defend
but we are being thrashed anyway – if we lost 5-3 i think the fans would be more behind him as at least we are seen to be going for it

  183. I agree Runtingz but he plays it as he see’s fit to get results not pander to public opinion. As you pointed out if we had a forward line that greatly swayed thing in the favour of attack then I’m sure he would be doing that, we are dire in front of goal so he remains cautious. We have not been prolific all season and not one player is deadly in front of goal, I think we would need 30 chances a game to get 2 goals and lets face it we don’t create more than 10-15 on a good day if you count all the shit shots from 30 yards, Clear cut chances generally do not exist unless its in our box. So people can slate him all day but we created next to nothing under Tim and we have continued that under Remi.

  184. Bruce – dear god almighty how low we have fallen, not suggesting we’d be on Mourinho’s agenda but Bruce has done fuck all as a manager and that is why he is currently managing Hull in the second division. No thank you, might as well get McLeish back.

Completely understand why some people want to see the back of Remi because it’s a results business but if you had a limited squad, senior professionals (using the term loosely) who do everything but play and then as a manager you look at the bench or squad to see who you could replace the rotten element with then you’d come to the same conclusion, put out the best on-paper and available 11 and hope they carry out your instructions.

How is it that Garde can be solely identified as the problem at Villa by some of the lads on here, look at the performance of most of the players, does it not tell you Garde isn’t the problem.

If this team was built by Garde fair enough but media comment suggests players feel he will be sacked, therefore this is backhanded players actions to undermine Garde and clearly some the players are playing to get him sacked at Aston Villa’s expense.

I don’t think the squad is good enough no matter what manager came in, so in terms of who stays and who goes. Gabby first every time, he is the long term bad apple that prevents managers from doing their jobs, look at how Keane was treated when Keane stood up to Gabby.

As for next manager, no need Garde should stay and get an opportunity to build his own team and get rid of the deadwood. While so much change is needed in terms of how the club is run, we actually need stability in the manager role right now.

    FOLAF

  185. DOR
    I blame remi for picking
Guzan Hutton lescott wastewood bacuna and worst of all flabby do not say youth are not better options than them 6,surely if remi went to non league, even local leagues players would be better standard, try put effort in where I from our Sunday league ( made up from all sides in league) have qualified for last 4 for fourth year running far better quality than from above 6
I don’t blame remi for any other shite going on

  186. Hi All..

I liked Garde.. under different circumstances i think he would have done well for us.. but lets face facts.. he came in at a time that the last five years of screw ups has finally run out of luck and thne in the Jan when he needed and identified five players GK..RB..CB..AM..ST.. he got shafted big time and we couldn’t even get him a Sylla lol

Since then results have got progressively worse and are now turning into thumpings.. he has started to pick Richards again.. who for me is a complete liability..

By the time the season ends.. we probably will have suffered a few more defeats and look an even bigger shambles..

So with all those factors to consider it may well be time to let Garde go.. he has been involved in all the defeats and it will most definitely take a toll on him..

Start next season with indifferent results and the demons of season gone will all come flooding back..

For me.. Sack the three amigos.. regrettably let Garde go to.. bring in a manager like Moyes or Pearson and got a head of recruitment that someone the manager likes to work with.. its not rocket science.. maybe just maybe we can come up at the first attempt..

But im not holding out for that considering what has gone on the last five years..

  187. Just to add if someone if DAFT enough to give us 5M for Richards then that will be one of the best bits of transfer business we have done in a long time.. 🙂

  188. Just listened to a very interesting talk on the radio about Newcastle. The telegraph correspondent was saying that McLaren has to go and to get Moyes in now. He also said its not really his fault as Newcastle have not addressed their weaknesses in the summer. They have spent a lot but really needed at least 4 defenders, they have the same set up as we are attempting by buying in players for the manager. He said Mclaren is a good coach but is not strong enough to keep them in line so they put very little effort in on the pitch. Does this not sound an awful lot like Villa?

For me Garde is caught having to placate the likes of Gabby and Richards to keep the others on board, the likelihood is he would rather bin the lot but because we are paper thin he has to persevere having had his rebuild quashed in Jan.

  189. Mark my guess is if Garde stays gabby will be booted out asap – and it seems garde tried to shift him in Jan – but if he goes the new man is likely to give gabs a chance

  190. Realised years ago that the British idea of motivation is some idiot on the touchline pumping fresh air and yelling total bollox, there is actually another way of doing things if given half a chance. People are talking about the Championship as if its on a par with the Champions League, no its a heap of shite that can be mastered by a small quantity of nous, Watford, Bournemouth and Swanseee have all integrated into the EPL after achieving promotion by attractive footy, lets not go the Graham Taylor route of kick and rush just persevere with a bloke who’s managed in the Champs Lge and actually prefers constructive football which the chimps currently masquerading as Villa players can’t take on board. Remi can and, in my opinion, re-form AVFC into a proper football club, whether or not he will be allowed the opportunity depends on the whims of people who know fuck all about anything other than shafting the working classes, so not much of a future then.
Will add that someone on another site has suggested that the America imbecile would gain through putting Villa into administration and benefitting from tax, I don’t know about this other than being told by someone with half a brain that this will happen on 30.03.2016.

  191. Sumo wrestling could be the fat frauds forte, Shearer’s comments finished his career in actual football, and people still stand up for the fat fuck.

  192. If its true administration all our assets will be sold off to pay the debtors and whatever is left of the club like the name will be auctioned off. How this goes with people (players ) for assets I don’t know mate

  193. Going into administration effectively means your company is being taken under the management of a court appointed administrator – who must be a licensed insolvency practitioner (IP) – appointed by the courts, your creditors, or your company directors.

What is administration – a simple guide

Administration is a very powerful process for gaining control, when a company is insolvent and facing serious threats from creditors. The Court may appoint a licensed insolvency practitioner as administrator. This places a moratorium around the company and stops all legal actions, (lots of technical stuff required for this! if you want to know – see longer guides).

The administration must have a purpose and the Government encourages the use of company rescue mechanisms after Administration.

Under the administration option, it is possible for the company and its directors (or a creditor like the bank) to apply to the court to put the company into administration through a streamlined process, by applying to the High Court.

However, the law requires that any finance provider (like a bank or lender), with the appropriate security, is contacted and the aims of the administration be discussed and approved. The finance provider must have a fixed and floating charge (usually under a debenture) and the charge holder will need to give permission for the process to go ahead. Five days clear notice is required.

Doesn’t stop you from starting up again once the old company has gone, Probably as Aston Lerner or Randy Villa 🙂

  194. i’m certainly not saying that will happen just speculation but the Lerner family are vindictive bastards, starting with old man Lerner. This twat wouldnt think twice about finishing us and his appointment of Hollis is definitely a step in that direction.

  195. If this administration rumour is true, I think it will be the 7 shell companies from Lerner Holdings that make the claim they are owed around £280m against Aston Villa football Club, where it gets Murky is the fact RL owns Villa, can he sell assets of from the club to recoup money for the shell companies in Lerner holdings??? Is it legal to rob Peter to pay Paul ?
Either way if this does happen will we have a points deduction? Transfer embargo? Are looking at becoming the next Portsmouth of Leeds?
Harry Redknapp said we are arguably the biggest club to be relegated, but he fears we could drop through the divisions, we lack leadership both on and off the pitch and those in positions of power and the summer recruitment need to be held accountable. Now although we know he had help in writing that piece( as evidenced by the use of big words), the sentiment is pretty much bang on.
We need change off and on the pitch .

  196. With Lerner as primary debtor, the sale of any assets to pay for the debt accumulated under Lerner would go to Lerner first on a pro-rata basis.

It is a very clever way to protect against insolvency and also allow any loss to be used as a tax write off against other profitable companies. It’s more like robbing Peter to pay Peter.

We all know what happens to clubs in administration and that is an external appointment to manage the day to day running of the club until such time as a buyer is found. From our perspective, it’s possible further demotion, transfer embargo, points deduction, and watching Gabby take more unearned money out of the club.

I suppose the silver-lining is Hollis would have experience of this and the internal inquiry is probably taking into consideration all eventualities not least removing those who are to blame for the mis-management. My big problem with Hollis is he is on Lerner’s payroll and that may temper any actions that would actually impact Lerner himself as being ultimately responsible for hiring the three amigos and several managers who either had no experience (Sherwood), unsuitable for Villa (McLeish) or entirely constrained by the budget (Lambert, Garde).

    FOLAF

  197. Steamer: “Shearer’s comments finished his career in actual football, and people still stand up for the …”

Shearer’s comments were directed towards Gabby in that he (Gabby) looked defeated and was not moving at that point in the second half.

But that’s just picking on one player – there were a number of others of the same state of mind and attitude. Not just Gabby.

Let’s face it … there’s no drive in the team and they *all* appear to me as though they’re just going through the motions in order to pick up their pay-packets. And Zoggy isn’t even prepared to do that.

I see Gregory’s suggested that Joey Barton should have been signed. Well, I remember Villa signing a certain George Curtis all of 45 years ago and he certainly had the right effect.

  198. Sooner he looked deflated rather than defeated John, club captain ?
Met George Curtis years ago, very nice bloke, but when you shook his hand it was like putting it through a wringer. I remember Tony Hateley breaking his nose at Meadow Lane one, George shoved a bit of cotton wool up it and dominated Notts County’s attack for 80 mins, without a doubt the hardest footballer iv’e ever seen.
I see Terry Venables in his latest book said that Paul McGrath was the best player he’s EVER seen in English football. Jack Charlton said PM was 20 times better than he was and 3 times better than Bobby Moore, yet the Telegraph didn’t put him in their list of the best 100 players to play in the EPL, Phil Neville & Ledley King but no PM, they even labelled the panel “experts.”
    Archie,
A pal knows an accountant who told him, he’s usually on the ball but who knows ?

  199. I’m wondering how it will all stand up when Lerner is the man loaning the money ultimately to himself, when they ask to go into administration could it not be refused on those grounds and lerner held accountable? if the club has recently said we made a loss of £4m in the last accounts they then cannot take into account the loan of £280mil (due 2018)otherwise we would of been making a massive loss since lerner turned up. He has waived fee’s before and would have to again.

  200. Morning Lifers,

Quite right Steamer. The writing has been on the wall for a long time.

Randy will walk away having recovered his money from the sale of the main assets, and Aton Villa will remain in name only, with minimal assets.

  201. Steamer,

It only takes 10 years for memories to get hazy doesn’t it?

When Lerner took over, Villa’s glorious past was so great that it still glittered on the horizon of history, but was in danger of being lost in the cycle of time. Ten years later, it’s been lost altogether except as noted in history books.

If we were to talk to a typical fan of any other club under 40 years of age they would probably not know a thing about Villa’s achievements, or even think them important if they knew.

  202. JL,
At least they can read your books, that’s your legacy, look at Lerner’s, reviled in UK and a laughing stock in his own country.

  203. Barton would be ok in a new set up but he would be walking into the same situation as qpr, he could not change them.

My dream team today would be harry working alongside rodgers. Rodgers they say is a great coach and harry can do all the media get the players fired up bit.

  204. Andrew,
A Pompey fan told me that PFC’s CEO Peter Storrie who was a big pal of ballbag face was on 4k for every point PFC won, if you knew how much they’re still paying out for Redknapps follies you’d be amazed.

  205. it was Mark but really its more Conor’s natural weight as he could just eat and train rather that starve 48hrs before the fight to make weight

its about time they made fighter fight at there more natural weight imo

  206. Yes mate but as my mate in Liverpool pointed out when trying to get in the Olympics in tae kwon do,
You may be 5’10” and the same weight as a 6’2″ bloke naturally. Thats a lot of reach advantage.

  207. Hi Runtings

Conor’s natural weight yes but his effective punching power is against opponents in lower weights. He didn’t have enough punch power to knock Diaz.

And with UFC well known to promote, make money and spit you out the other side, this may hamper McGregor’s ability to earn much more money even if he drops back two weight divisions again.

McGregor started to believe his own hype and gambled too far in my opinion.

    FOLAF

  208. I agree there DOR – I think Conor has a huge advantage against the lighter guys as he is cutting down to meet the weight but by fight might he is bigger and stronger than those guys

I do think he has superb technique and a very usual fighting style and has brought a real boost to the sport – i do wish he would get personal about people’s families ect — but up until the last fight this had worked in his favour and guys fighting him were so ruffled they lost control due to anger which made it easier for Conor to walk all over them

  209. Looking at a few Newcastle sites and we are both in the same shit, possibly good coaches ( remi,McLaren,) but not managers not helped by the clowns recruitment policy
Listening to what King said, written that more woe to come HOW ?,we are down we know that but are we not going to try to come up again,it still does not make any sense what went on in January remi needed minimum of 5 players had them lined up for about 20/25 m not much when 100 m at stake,we need them for next season anyway the shite we have are not good enough to beat Wycombe 4 the tier team so how are they going to win promotion, if remi had a striker we would beat wba who beat utd gave Leicester big scare and that match ref sections went against us plus bunn and lescott wouldn’t been playing
This season if you took all points lost by errors from guzan Hutton Richardson lescott Richards we would have been top 6 never mind flabby misses under Sherwood

  210. Hardly a good advert for season ticket sales ‘Er we know last season was crepe, next season will be as bad but everything will be ok in the end, trust me i’m a banker,’ not that it makes any difference Merv but i wouldn’t trust any of the AV admin to walk my dog. Your mate Lerner has virtually finished this club in his ten years of havoc, and its going to get worse ? The decision to deny Remi the players required to make a fist of attempting to secure our PL position has condemned us to second level footy, you and your fellow directors and admin then preach loyalty to the clubs fans. The only task we require from you and Hollis is to get this club sold therefore removing the biggest blight on AVFC in its history, and then just go.

  211. Reading between the lines it looks like Garde has the chance to stay – if he decides to decline the offer i think that will say a lot about the direction the board are taking after relegation

Mervin says we have some very good p;layers and a few of them were before they came to Villa
The problem is without balance i,e a goal threat and creative players the team doesn’t really have any where to go but up it’s own ars-

  212. Well King has already put a knife into any optimism for next season, pretty much saying unless the rest of the championship don’t turn up, we won’t be mounting any promotion challenge. This in itself doesn’t make sense, if Lerner wants to sell he will get far ££££ more for a premier league club than a second tier, with the parachute payment being the biggest of the three, surely an effort must be made to get back at the first attempt.
Also It shows the massive void in actual football knowledge at the club, Merv states we have some very good players at the club!(where the fuck are they hiding????) ago he states Garde can stay, it’s up to him. So if the players are very good, the manager is rated highly enough to be kept on, Why the fucking hell are we bottom of the league on a pathetic 16 points.
The lack of backbone at Villa is frightening . Why are Fox and co still here?? Stevie Wonder can see the damage these pricks are doing/have done.
I haven’t seen this many cunts in one place, since parliament resumed, it’s criminal what’s going on at Villa.
At least Blues are losing, we can’t have them in the premier league getting ££££££ whilst we go bust.
