Just a quick post as it is regarding an outgoing transfer that has been announced at 3am UK time on Fox’s Soccer Report.

Brad Friedel has agreed to join Tottenham Hotspur after his contract with Villa expired. Whilst some of us might have said he wasn’t the best keeper to be between the posts, and he has got a tendency to flap at balls when they come out, Friedel has performed a solid job for us.

With Guzan and Marshall the only remaining goalkeepers at the club, surely this means the new manager will need to look at a top keeper as a number one priority. Not that I have anything against either Brad Guzan or Andy Marshall, but I don’t think either is, for differing reasons, in a place to be competing for the number one jersey.

Thanks from the fans, and good luck

I’d just like to take the time to say thank you to Brad for his performances whilst at the club, and to wish him all the best in what will probably be his final professional contract.
